Cafe Verlet sur Paris

We had a coffee and a madeleine there, it was excellent. We went back for a small lemon cake and coffee; this is an address to keep and share with friends.

Truly a beautiful shop and cafe. A quiet getaway from the bustle of the area. The staff, welcoming and friendly. Although the pear cake and madeleine we had were just ok. I did purchase some tea as a gift for a friend who is a tea lover, the shop staff was very knowledgeable and thorough.

Long Black and Waffles are very good.

Their cafetière is really special and worth a try!

Following my negative review (see below), I went back this morning, Monday the 17th. I spoke to the manager who listened attentively and with a smile. I will return. Message from August 15th: Having fond memories of Verlet cafés, I confidently entered their lovely shop to buy coffee and ask them to grind it. While waiting, I ordered an iced coffee. The result: the iced coffee was drowned in too many ice cubes, and once home, I realized the coffee hadn't been ground. :) I returned the next day, a Saturday, having checked their website for opening hours on August 15th ("hours may vary"), only to find the shop closed with no opening hours displayed on their storefront. In short, apart from the friendliness of the young man who helped me choose the coffee, the rest of the staff... training in customer service would be very helpful. DISAPPOINTED, DISAPPOINTED, DISAPPOINTED

I always buy my coffee beans from Colombia.

The waffles were really good, crispy and fresh. The coffee was nice too, and the place had a calm and pleasant atmosphere.

Despite the charming, old-fashioned setting, the waitresses on duty that day didn't seem very engaged. My husband ordered the daily savory tart, and I ordered a salmon, cream cheese, and lemon tartine. Unfortunately, I didn't receive the dish I ordered. I ate anyway because I was hungry and the service was a bit slow. Our desserts were served a little faster. It's expensive for what's offered...a shame, I'd say it's a bit of a tourist trap.

Really nice little cafe, went for a late breakfast and arrived right when they opened. All the tables were full within 15 mins on a Friday morning. We had two lattes which were so very good and some of the best we've had. The food was also solid, the pain au chocolat was very airy and flakey, although it seems like they only had three or so available because they ran out after we ordered two. The toast with cream cheese and salmon was also very good. The cafe has a great atmosphere, very reminiscent of an old cafe with the vibes and the smell, really liked it. Service was good, there was only really one person servicing the tables and there were definitely too many people for only one server, but food and drink came out quickly and we didn't have any issues.
