A restaurant with a charming terrace in the citadel of Blaye, with friendly and delightful staff who go out of their way to explain their dishes. Arriving at 2:30 pm, after lunch service in France had ended, we could only choose from the tapas menu: baked Camembert with honey and herbs, and a shared platter with charcuterie (chorizo, salchichón, and a ham similar to Serrano ham) and cheeses (goat's cheese, Camembert, and another, Conté-style), confit garlic, honey, chickpea hummus, red pepper hummus, gherkins, bread, and butter. For dessert, homemade ice creams with very original flavors such as Breton palet biscuits or spirits like Pineau de Charente. To drink, cranberry syrup with sparkling water, peach syrup with still water, and a glass of Clairet Bordeaux rosé, a more intense 100% Merlot. The interior decor is lovely, and there's a high chair from the 1960s in France.

Our tour group of over 20 people booked dinner at this restaurant. The dishes served were quick to prepare and therefore not on the menu. The appetizer, main course, and dessert were of varying quality. Side dishes were almost never seasoned. The rice and vegetables were bland. Many dishes contained fish, but this could be changed beforehand upon request. The atmosphere was pleasant and authentic, as it's located outside the typical tourist areas. The restaurant has an outdoor seating area, which was also quite busy. Prices were on the higher end, but moderate compared to the city center.

A truly wonderful discovery! We had a fantastic time. The dishes were delicious, the ingredients high-quality, and the value for money remarkable: a starter, main course, and dessert for under €30—that's become rare these days. Special mention goes to the gazpacho and sangria, which practically transported us to Spain with their perfectly executed flavors. I also greatly appreciated the impeccable cleanliness of your establishment, both inside and on the terrace, not forgetting the restrooms. It's a detail that makes all the difference and reflects the care you take of your customers. Thank you to you and your entire team for your warm welcome, professionalism, and generosity. It's clear you love your work, and this is evident in both the food and the atmosphere. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return. P.S.: Mr. Boss, next time, let me enjoy the lime mousse with its apricot marmalade… and not with the strawberry coulis! 😄 I promise, I'll be even happier!
