Chalet Caron is the mountain restaurant you absolutely must stop at when you come to Val Thorens! You'll never be disappointed. The welcome is fantastic, the staff is friendly and attentive. The dishes are delicious and generous, with a wide selection every day. Impeccable hygiene! I highly recommend this place for a great meal and relaxing in the sun after a day of skiing!

A huge shoutout to Chalet Caron — we stopped there for a break, and the food was excellent. It’s the perfect place to warm up and recharge before the long descent.

Quick service, but the food is very inconsistent! The lasagna was good, but as for the schnitzel… a tasteless, processed piece of meat, very industrial. €23.50 for that, no less! Too expensive for a self-service/canteen.

La Laiterie

07/04/2026: Great experience despite reading the mixed reviews. The staffs and conceige were all very friendly and approachable, we had a great time with gd memories of our stay Heated ski lockers and ski in/out was super convenient. Not to mention the ski rental is just beside the lobby. Special mention to the one of the conceige staff ( a young guy sorry we din get his name ) who assisted my hubby with the winter socks for our rental car. He even gave us 2 bottles of water for the road. These kind gestures meant so much to us. Oh the free shuttle to town and back were such a nice touch esp on snowy days. Thank you Altapura for adding fond memories to our French alps adventure. Hope to be back in near future as we are from far away Asia.
02/04/2026: The food at la laiterie was lovely and the staff especially Noa were very friendly, polite and assisted us when we needed help. The experience overall was very good.
