After our short hike, we chose this mountain restaurant because we would have been back too late for the one located next to the Alpette cable car. The food isn't bad, but unfortunately, there are no mountain specialties here. Furthermore, the prices are very high, with no particular justification, as there's a parking lot right next door, making it easy to get supplies and also for tourists.
We hadn't checked these points before booking, thinking we'd at least get some local specialties.
€190 for four isn't cheap for an aperitif, simple dishes, and desserts for two.
A little disappointed overall.

A truly enchanting getaway! The Chalet du Lac, on the shores of Lake Besson, is a charming place nestled in an exceptional natural setting. After a stroll around the lake or a day on the slopes, you'll enjoy a warm atmosphere, with its mountain authenticity and beautiful woodwork.
The cuisine is generous and flavorful, showcasing local specialties, perfect for warming up and enjoying a friendly moment. The view is simply splendid, with the peaks as a backdrop.
A must-see in Alpe d'Huez, both for mountain lovers and those seeking a moment of relaxation in the great outdoors.

After a hike we stopped at the chalet almost at closing time but they still agreed to serve us, we just had a drink and there were 12 of us, a big thank you.
