Perfect place to sit and enjoy parliament square in Bordeaux - atmosphere changes with the day

When you come to Bordeaux, you have to stop at Fred's! All the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly.

Buzzing bar, especially late afternoon, really well run, service is fab and good drinks menu. Didn't have any snacks, so cant comment

Large plate, with sausage, cheese and pate, with French bread. Bread and Sausage were both excellent, pate was plain, tinned variety. The cheese was surprisingly from England, brie? Service was very good and friendly, lovely location facing the historic gate.

Great location in Bordeaux for morning coffee and pastries or an evening beer

Perfect spot to relax in Bordeaux, we went just for coffee, the view is amaizing. I recommend the Irish coffee.

Personally, I only stopped by for a coffee, but the experience was so pleasant that I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. The biggest draw of this place is undoubtedly its magnificent terrace. It has plenty of tables to accommodate visitors, while offering a breathtaking view of the Porte Cailhau. It's a real treat to be able to sip your coffee while admiring this iconic Bordeaux landmark and enjoying the gentle atmosphere of the neighborhood. However, the interior is just as worth a visit. If you prefer peace and quiet, you'll find perfect tables to relax quietly away from the noise. The decor is absolutely stunning. It's decorated with impeccable taste and originality, featuring numerous frames and unique photographs that give the space a special character. Every detail seems to have been carefully chosen to create an atmosphere that is both modern and welcoming.
