Chez Le Gaulois sur Sarlat-La-Caneda

A surprising place with its decor. Pleasant service, very good dishes, local produce and cuisine, we had a very pleasant time.

Excellent restaurant with a fantastic team, a special shout-out to Ophélie, the waitress, who was absolutely wonderful. We had platters with our two children, and they exceeded our expectations. Well done, and go there without hesitation!

Wow, the food was amazing!!! And the staff were fantastic!! Absolutely nothing to complain about, it had everything: the quality of the food and the excellent service... Everything you could want for a great time. I highly recommend it.

The staff makes you feel at ease, explains everything if you have the slightest question, and comes to check that everything is just as you want it. We ordered mixed cheese and charcuterie boards and thoroughly enjoyed them. The products were top quality, from the vegetables to the meat. The baked apple instead of salad for the children was a real hit, and the ice cream was excellent, with unusual and delicious flavors. The heat, however, somewhat spoiled our enjoyment, and a light ventilation or misting system would have been helpful (old stone walls, in an enclosed space with little airflow, it was almost stifling). Nevertheless, we had a very good time at Le Gaulois, and I can only recommend that you go when the weather is more pleasant than during a heatwave. Thank you to the whole team for this delightful experience.

A beautiful setting in this stunning city, friendly staff, and generous, delicious dishes… Honestly, it was fantastic, and I'll definitely be back on my next trip! Plus, they're so nice to their customers that they even forget to charge extra dishes on the bill! 😉🙃

I've been on holiday in Sarlat for a few days and I've already eaten there for the second time. The food is simple, but the portions are generous and made with quality ingredients, very well prepared, all at very reasonable prices. For me, it's the best value for money in the historic center of Sarlat! And what's more, the waitress and the owner are very friendly and helpful! An excellent place to eat in this beautiful town.
