La Rapiere sur Sarlat-La-Caneda

Had the "assiette du Périgord" and it was good. Not great, but good. Service was good. Ambience was great since weather was nice. The only complain is that with this plate, or all came at once so by the time you get to the duck it's cold.. definitely catering to the tourists. I had better food in the area, but it was more expensive. I'd say this one is between 3.5 and 4 stars,

A superb discovery, it was absolutely magnificent, the cassoulet and duck parmentier were perfect and excellent, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, I absolutely recommend it, thank you again.

Unfortunately, this restaurant failed to live up to its promises. We made a lunch reservation for dinner, a friendly waiter took our reservation, and the reviews were good. We were greeted, but when our plate arrived—duck breast and Salardaise potatoes, regional specialties—the potatoes were cold and the duck breast was overcooked. For us, that's basic cooking, nothing complicated about it. What a disappointment! We were told we had to send the dish back. I'm fed up with restaurants that can't even serve a basic dish and that don't care about the end-of-season tourists who are the ones keeping them in business. Mistakes happen, but this is too much. And keep your fluff for your chef, because my reviews are usually very positive. As regulars in Sarlat, this is an address we won't be returning to.

Restaurant located opposite the Sarlat-La-Canéda cathedral where we received a warm welcome. The waiter had a very nice mustache and was very friendly. The portions were very generous. We were even able to wait for our dessert. Thank you for a lovely time! 🫶
