Chez Leon sur Dijon

The food was delicious, the waiters were very friendly, and the dining experience was pleasant and heartwarming.

After a sudden and impressive hailstorm in the middle of July, we went to Léon's for dinner. We chose a set menu, along with a main course from the à la carte menu. For our starter, the poached eggs in red wine sauce were delicious. The sauce, with its intense wine flavor, was absolutely perfect with the bread, and the egg added even more richness. The main course from the set menu was Léon's beef bourguignon. Again, a resounding success: meltingly tender and perfectly cooked meat in a rich, deep sauce with a pronounced wine flavor. In addition to the set menu, we also followed the chef's recommendation and ordered the braised sweetbreads with morels. If you enjoy offal, this is a very delicate dish, where the sweetbreads blend beautifully with the sauce, while the morels add a special touch. Honestly, I did find this dish a bit pricey considering the quantity and quality offered. To finish, we shared two excellent desserts: a wonderful crème brûlée and a delicious tarte Tatin with vanilla ice cream. The interior is small but pleasant, with little space between the tables and a calm atmosphere. The restaurant also has a large terrace. I especially want to emphasize the quality of the service. Due to the hail, the staff had to urgently move the customers seated on the terrace inside, even though our reservation was for a table inside. We waited about ten minutes while they rearranged the dining room, and they apologized repeatedly, even though the situation was completely beyond their control. Despite the obvious stress, they handled everything with great professionalism and care. The pace of the service was also very good, neither too fast nor too slow. In conclusion, I particularly recommend this address for its menu, which offers a very nice overview of local gastronomy, with generous and well-prepared dishes, as well as a real sense of hospitality.

The snails were delicious (a bit small, unfortunately). The beef bourguignon was amazing; everything was flavorful, from the mashed potatoes to the meat and its jus. The service was super friendly.

Another great experience at this restaurant with its typical Burgundian cuisine; we're never disappointed. The sweetbreads are to die for, the service is super friendly, and the terrace overlooking the park is superb. We highly recommend it!

40° and air conditioning broken...

A lovely little restaurant. Two waitresses and a very professional and attentive waiter. Excellent food. Remember to book ahead as it gets very busy. I highly recommend it. I come back very regularly and I'm never disappointed. The team is always so professional and friendly. I'm treated like royalty every time, like today, June 30th... Well, yes, in two days I'll be a year older!! So I took advantage of my trip to Dijon to come to MY favorite spot!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Unfortunately, I can't agree with the positive reviews. The food was okay, but it felt rushed. The appetizer arrived promptly; we'd barely finished our aperitif. The table was cleared almost as soon as we'd finished eating. The main course arrived less than five minutes later. This has nothing to do with French cuisine; it's just a rushed, impersonal experience. We decided to skip dessert. It's a shame, as we spend almost every holiday in France and have visited many restaurants, but we've never encountered anything so bland.

Discovered during a business trip, this restaurant is certainly not my last. Léon impresses with its sincere and expertly prepared French cuisine, where the apparent simplicity of the dishes gives way to a remarkable precision of flavors. Without ever resorting to showy displays, each dish reveals a beautiful execution, supported by well-prepared ingredients and balanced combinations. The attentive and warm service contributes fully to the pleasure of the meal. The value for money also deserves to be highlighted, as the experience offered is both consistent and generous. The convivial atmosphere invites you to linger and naturally makes you want to return. A top-notch restaurant in Dijon, one to treasure in your list of favorite places to eat.
