Comptoir des colonies sur Dijon

I've been trying to come here to the terrace whenever I can for the past two years. The setting is lovely and the tea is really good! Despite the slightly high prices, it's always a pleasure to sit here.

This iconic Dijon establishment is, however, starting to lose some of its luster! While the selection of teas, coffees, and other beverages remains extensive and of high quality, some elements clearly deserve an update. I'm thinking in particular of the famous cake served with tea: too often dry and tasteless, to the point that I no longer even eat it. This is all the more disappointing given the significant price increase. For example, on my last visit, two teas cost €17 (as an extra on the menu): at that price point, one has the right to expect a higher quality experience! Furthermore, other establishments in Dijon are now positioning themselves in the same market segment, offering equally high-quality, or even better, products at more reasonable prices. An update to the menu would therefore be welcome to maintain the establishment's image and prestige.

A REAL tea room with a complimentary quarter-quart (a type of cake) for tea time. Specializing in Mariage Frères teas, meaning high-quality tea: 7 euros for a medium-sized pot (2 or 3 cups).

Great tea room and café, the staff are very friendly, and the drinks are excellent. Special mention to the waiter Camille, he's so charming I fell in love with him. lol I highly recommend it

We stopped for a coffee. The coffee was very good, however the condition and presentation of the menu left much to be desired (a loose, dirty sheet of paper).

We had two delicious lemon cakes, a coffee, and a hot chocolate for about €21. The cakes were €7 each, which is unfortunately quite common these days in a big city. The tables are a bit close together, but the staff were quick to help us with our order when they noticed our limited French. You can also buy coffee and tea in the left part of the shop. 250g of coffee cost around €8.

A wonderful discovery at Le Comptoir des Colonies! A discreet and charming spot: hidden away at the top of a narrow staircase, lies a cozy cocktail bar with club chairs and a slightly kitschy yet characterful decor. The cocktails are subtle, delicate, and perfectly crafted. An ideal place to spend a great time with friends in an intimate atmosphere. 🍸✨

A perpetually busy spot near Les Halles, offering an incredible variety of teas and coffees. Prices are rather high, but justified by the selection and undoubtedly the refinement and quality of the products.
