Fantastic dinner with friends! The waitstaff really pampered us! The choices were varied and none of us were disappointed! (Special mention for the salmon tartare). We were seated under the glass roof with a great view of Place Jean Jaurès. We'll be back next week!

Second visit to this lovely brasserie in Tours during a trip. Excellent service! Efficient and very good meal. We enjoyed our table on the terrace and will definitely be back next time!

In France, there are brasseries and then there are brasseries. You just have to know which one to choose!
The Continental in Tours is one of those excellent French brasseries (and yes, there's more than just Paris). It's opposite the town hall, on the left if you're facing away from it.
Having had lunch there on Sunday (excellent), I went back on Monday evening: excellent again, so it's no coincidence!
The Goya salad (as a meal) is absolutely INCREDIBLE (in 40 years of eating at restaurants and brasseries, it's my best discovery, truly).
The service is friendly first, then professional.
BRAVO!!!

Went for an afternoon snack and an early evening lunch. The smoothies tasted like water, had very little fruit, and were overpriced for the quality. The bread was inedible; it was so hard.
The staff, however, were very kind and helpful.

The burger I ordered was good. However, I was really disappointed with the smoothie. It seemed to be made with frozen fruit, which gave it an unnatural taste and didn't allow you to taste the fresh fruit flavor. This is especially disappointing since the price is what you'd expect from a smoothie, which should be made with higher-quality ingredients.
I hope this aspect will be improved, as it would really make a difference.

If it had just been the bottle of Badoit at room temperature and the dog at the next table, we might have been able to enjoy ourselves! But when things start badly...
Then came the so-called "Caesar" salad. Like the Badoit, the salad's freshness was at room temperature (36 degrees Celsius outside). One can only imagine what it was like in the kitchens... The chicken in the basket, on the other hand, was cold. It was lucky it hadn't been cooked in that heat. The bacon slices were also cold.
They had been prepared in advance and therefore had reached room temperature.
The 3.7 rating is very overrated. There are better options.
