As my father said yesterday, "When you're here, you feel like everything's right with the world." Family-run, very French, but above all, rural and picturesque! I've been coming here since I was a kid, that's a good 25 years, and it hasn't changed (hardly) an inch! A very wide selection of mussels, sausage, leg of lamb, and mashed potatoes and fries. The meat is cooked on the grill right next to the diners! All drinks and orders are taken at the bar, and don't forget your table number! My father was a little disappointed with the mussels, but the sausage was perfect. So yes, it's the young man who took over the establishment from his father, and the rather kitschy premises, so beloved by our little ones, now boast a pellet stove, nice lighting, and a pergola! To the grumblers of yesteryear, we remind them that back in the day, outside there were only tree trunks, not benches, and flushing the toilet meant flooding the outhouse. As long as Ingrid Betancourt's picture is pinned to her cross-stitch, La Cale will live on!

The leg of lamb and the sausage and fries crepe were absolutely delicious! So comforting in winter, can't wait to come back when the weather's warmer ☀️🌊

The mussels in cream sauce and the oysters were very good.
