Excellent lunch, friendly service and beautiful setting on Place de la Comédie!

A staple of the Place de la Comédie, this restaurant ticks all the boxes of a classic: immaculate white tablecloths, a constant stream of waiters, and a lively atmosphere from morning till night. As for the food, it's more about efficient service than a memorable gastronomic adventure. The food is adequate, but nothing more. The real show, however, takes place in the dining room. The tables are so close together that you end up sharing much more than just space: conversations, anecdotes, political opinions, and sometimes even your neighbors' vacation plans. Between the person who speaks loud enough to liven up the entire room and the one who seems convinced you've become their confidant, the immersion is total. As for privacy, it's measured in centimeters: knee to knee with the next table, you quickly discover that conviviality isn't an option, but an obligation. The waiters, brave amidst this joyful cacophony, do what they can. In fact, it's not uncommon to have to repeat your order several times, as the noise level rivals that of a train station on a busy holiday weekend. My advice: opt for the terrace whenever the weather permits. You'll enjoy the lively atmosphere of the square without having to glean the details of your neighbors' love lives. A pleasant experience, provided you accept that the menu also includes, free of charge, the conversations of other customers and that you're not expecting fine dining.

Hello We had stopped going to this café because the waiters were really unfriendly and the terrace was always very dirty! On Saturday we stopped by and what a surprise! The waiters were impeccable, very friendly, and smiling! The terrace was just as clean and regularly swept. The tables were finally set up like a proper brasserie! The manager kept a watchful eye on everything, which was very pleasant; nothing was lacking. Congratulations to the whole new team! Mick

The service was efficient, it was still acceptable but the quality had declined, especially the meat.

The meals were good, plentiful, and well-presented. The quality of the dishes was excellent, which is a positive point I want to emphasize. However, the experience was significantly marred by the wait. More than 40 minutes passed between the appetizer and the main course, without anyone coming to inform us or check on us. The only people who came to our table were those responsible for bringing the food. Twice, we were told it wasn't their table and that they couldn't do anything to inform us about the wait. It's a shame, because the food is good, but the lack of attention and the excessive wait made the experience quite disappointing. A little more attention to the customers would have made a big difference.

Good brasserie in a great location, Place de la Comédie! Nothing exceptional, but the staff are polite and quick.

Everyone who served us—and we were a group of six—was lovely, especially Maéva, who is a real ray of sunshine. A pleasure!

Hello, during a weekend in Montpellier, we came several times for breakfast and lunch as a family. The waiter, in his fifties, with a shaved head and light eyes, was extremely kind and patient every time, even though my family is quite demanding :) I'm taking this opportunity to thank him from the bottom of my heart, as it was a very pleasant experience. The dishes lived up to our expectations, and the price was reasonable. The terrace is heated and equipped with fans, which is very comfortable. I highly recommend it!
