Our dinner at Hippopotamus Gennevilliers on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026, went very well. There were three of us. The restaurant manager gave us a very warm welcome and took the time to chat with us; he was very pleasant and asked if everything was alright with our order. The meal was delicious, and the waitress was very attentive. Everything was perfect, nothing to complain about.

Really disappointed. There were three of us. We ordered three Irish steaks with fries. €21.80. There were very few fries, and the steak was far too small for someone with a good appetite. The service was far too slow. I really miss my country restaurants with generous portions and unlimited bread. I also ordered a salad, which was served in a tiny container. The bill: No starters, three aperitifs, tap water, and two desserts (my daughter didn't have dessert). €105. Really too expensive for what you get.

02/09/2026: Excellent welcome and service! I loved the lamb shank and the mille-feuille was quite good! For the slightly high price, there are set menus available for €35 including a starter, main course, and dessert.
01/09/2026: Nice place. A bit pricey for the quality, but it's a place where you can eat well.
