The starter (country pâté) was served in half portions: there was actually only one portion left in the kitchen but it was announced that 2 starters were available and half portions were served; but the billing was done at 100% for 2 starters: this practice is unacceptable.

This is my third time at this Hippopotamus. Overall, the service is decent, but nothing special.
However, the food is consistently disappointing: there's always something underwhelming. Last time, the gratin dauphinois wasn't cooked, and the potatoes in it were even more undercooked. Also, the "Original Minced Steak" had an undercooked egg, the bed of onions was rather meager, and a tiny spot in the dish tasted like dish soap. Overall, if I had to choose a Hippopotamus west of Paris, I'd go to the one in Meudon.

The service was completely disorganized. A huge disappointment: a 30-minute wait between each course, and upon arrival, one side dish was wrong and the other completely cold. For dessert, they offered unlimited chocolate mousse, but you had to ask for it (gone is the large self-service bowl that made Hippopotamus famous)... with another 30-minute wait. In short, it was no pleasure to be there, despite the friendly servers.

Excellent experience at Hippopotamus! Fast and friendly service, perfectly cooked meat, and delicious dishes. The atmosphere is welcoming and the value for money is very good. I highly recommend it.
