Hostellerie Chateau des Fines Roches sur Chateauneuf-Du-Pape

A delightful lunch at Restaurant des Fines Roches in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The dishes were flavorful and refined, the service attentive and warm, and above all, the setting absolutely magnificent with a splendid view of the vineyards. A truly pleasurable and indulgent experience. I highly recommend this restaurant and will gladly return.

A beautiful place nestled among the vineyards with a stunning view overlooking the vineyards. The room was very comfortable and spacious. We were able to: enjoy a massage with Valerie (pure bliss and relaxation) visit the wine cellar and learn a great deal from Nathalie, who was very friendly, knowledgeable, and pragmatic.

As they know, it was an unforgettable four days; the staff knows I loved the establishment, and I gave many well-deserved compliments.

Brunch tried on Sunday, disappointing considering the sumptuous setting. The organization needs improvement in a small room with a queue to be served, as all the dishes are grouped together in the same confined space. The starters are very good, made with quality ingredients, and the selection is decent. The choice of hot dishes is limited, which is a shame because they are quite good, but one expects dishes that are out of the ordinary, even if the preparations are good. A major drawback is the desserts, with a very limited selection and clearly not up to standard. They should consider hiring a pastry chef worthy of the name: the rice pudding was mediocre, the tonka bean panna cotta was poorly balanced, the chocolate mousse was too sweet, and the fruit salad lacked fruit, being more like apple salad. Finally, for the fruit juices, it would be preferable to offer something other than Andros and opt for local fruit juices.

A truly magical place. At the end of a small path lined with Provençal cypress trees, straight as menhirs, stands a magnificent castle with a breathtaking view. And the restaurant… simply a gem! Bravo to this young chef who has transformed this place into a culinary delight! I am amazed and, of course, I highly recommend it!
