Attention Remarkable place! When quality and know-how come together like a bygone era before ugly modernity. Pleasure of the senses, taste, sight. Absolutely delicious food with a divine knight shadow. Restaurant like a museum of tradition. It’s even difficult to understand everything. Traditional room with its faults which make up its qualities. Royal breakfast! My only regret: having arrived in hiking gear, I would have liked a jacquard jacket and a top hat for example… I will definitely come back and don’t hesitate for a moment, it would be a waste of time….

Visit this hotel before these types of hotels die out with their staff. This hotel cannot be put into the classic star rating grid. It's not about how many towels you have in the bathroom or how long reception is manned. It's about an authentic experience in an old building. Every part of the building shows its past. It is winding, built over centuries around the city wall. Something has been added there, something built in there. The owner is a unique character who puts his heart and soul into running the hotel (and cooking?). Try the menu in the evening. Just be prepared for what's on offer. It will be very tasty. The service is also part of the setting. Simply immerse yourself in a different hotel world. It's worth it. And please don't be so negative. You can also go to a Best Western where everything is standardized, but please don't complain about this gem, which is completely different.

Exellente table , des produits de qualite , les preparations et cuissons maitrisees , j y ai dejeune 2 fois donc avis poste avec un certain recul . Petit bemol sur le dressage assez vieille ecole et le lieu a la deco vieille france , mais au final le decorum on s en tape tant que ce qui est servit et de qualite ! N hesitez pas !

How nice it is to find a real table again. The arctic char was cooked perfectly, we really enjoyed it. We will come back.

Excellent table. We had an excellent gastronomic time there. The welcome was very friendly and the service matched the meal. The menu is certainly small but the dishes are of excellent quality, very well cooked and presented. We highly recommend this restaurant, the best in Besse.

We take the small menu at €21. We immediately see that the chef knows how to cook. It's elaborate but simple, with taste. Very good Auvergne wine by the glass. Building with character. Pleasant, neat room. Listening service. Downside: we ask for a coffee, and without warning we are brought coffee + panna cotta, a dessert that we don't like (plus it seemed defrosted), titled on the bill "coffee break", at €5 of course.

Ce restaurant est un bon représentant de la restauration classique française comme on n'en voit plus. La décoration, les tables, les couverts, beaucoup de détails nous montrent que les clients bénéficient de toutes les attentions. De plus, la cuisine et le service sont à la hauteur. Seul bémol : les tarifs mais compte tenu de ce qui est proposé cela paraît acceptable.
