I'm giving it 4 stars because I don't want to harm the chef... We had three €129 set menus on June 18th for lunch. We enjoyed the meal, but we were served by, among others, a lady and a gentleman of a certain age whom we found rather gloomy, with a mechanical demeanor, no warm interaction with the customer, and not a single smile. The aperitif glass of champagne was served without anything to nibble on with it; I had to ask for something after half an hour, which then took another 20 minutes to arrive.
As an apology, they topped up the glass of champagne we had started drinking while it was still chilled.
In short... how to conclude?... a very cold and soulless atmosphere.

Our impression remains unchanged after this second holiday stay: a place where you feel good, where the welcome is warm. Radio is now one of our favorite places, one we return to.

Excellent meal BUT!!!! Served with soft, white bread with a rubbery crust, sliced and presented in a wooden box like in a roadside diner. It ruined everything. I can give you the contact details of a good baker. What a shame!!!
€352.50 for two people, all the same.

Overnight stay at the Hotel Radio.
1/ The hotel: Charming welcome. This entirely Art Deco hotel has a slightly old-fashioned feel. Large room on the top floor. Nice bathroom with separate toilet. No safe. No minibar. (This is presumably normal for a 3-star hotel, but would have been welcome.) What was bothersome was the noise from the restaurant kitchen extractor fan, which permeates the entire neighborhood and echoes in our room. Fortunately, it was turned off after service. Parking is available on the adjacent streets or in the private parking lot below the hotel. The hotel offers decent value for money.
2/ The restaurant. Beautiful dining room. Set menu of the month at €94. Fine, quality cuisine, but nothing exceptional. We would have preferred fewer petits fours and more generous portions of cheese from the superb trolley. No wines by the glass on the wine list. So we dipped into the wine list, being cautious because the prices are exorbitant. With two glasses of Champagne, the bill came to over €300 for two...

A truly wonderful experience from beginning to end.
The Hotel Radio is a charming place with an elegant Art Deco ambiance.
The Michelin-starred restaurant lives up to expectations: a refined tasting menu, perfectly prepared ingredients, and exquisite flavor combinations. Everything was delicious.
The service is professional and pleasant. To nitpick, our first appetizer was served before we ordered our wines, but this is a minor detail considering the overall quality of the experience.
An overnight stay at the hotel perfectly complements this memorable experience.
A place to recommend without hesitation.

"RADIO - BRAVO!"
The best Michelin-starred restaurant in the Clermont-Ferrand region!
On April 14, 2026, we enjoyed an excellent meal, some dishes of which rivaled those of Maison Marcon, a three-Michelin-starred establishment!
In a beautiful Art Deco building, with spacious, bright, and pleasantly furnished dining room and lounge.
A welcoming, competent, and attentive staff.
A beautifully set and decorated table, elegant tableware, and comfortable seating.
High-quality dishes, a refined artistic presentation, and sophisticated, flavorful cuisine.
Congratulations to Chef Wilfried Chaplain, his kitchen team, and the front-of-house staff—all were perfect.
Just one small observation (intended to be positive), for the Chef or the person in charge of procurement, concerning the "strawberry-themed dessert." The remarkable work that went into this dessert was marred, even distorted, by the mediocre quality of the strawberries used… This fruit doesn't tolerate mediocrity!
These strawberries were sugar-free, tasteless, and odorless, and despite the careful preparation, the overall result was disappointing. Truly regrettable!
A tip: to create a truly good dessert with this fruit, I would advise you to use the best strawberries in the region, the flavorful ones grown in open fields, which can be found at the Cercle des Producteurs de Vertaizon, Maison Giraudon, with the "Dream" variety (or even better, "Manon," although unfortunately, it's only available for a short time). You can find them at the Chamalières market on Saturday mornings during this period.
Despite this minor drawback… the meal was so delicious… we'll be back!!!
