We stayed three days at the Hôtel-Restaurant L’Héritage and it was love at first sight. From the moment we arrived, the exceptional welcome and the quality of service immediately put us at ease. You can feel the dedication of the team, their attentiveness, and their genuine concern for the well-being of their guests. The impeccable, clean, and comfortable rooms made our stay particularly enjoyable. The building's characterful architecture adds an authentic charm that makes you want to return. As for the restaurant, we have nothing but praise: the food is excellent, generous, and perfectly executed. Every meal was a delight. In short, we loved this place. An address we wholeheartedly recommend and where we will gladly return.

I was in Cognac for work as a photographer, and I had the pleasure of spending the night in this magnificent hotel right in the city center. A huge thank you, especially to the young man at reception who was working on May 22, 2026. Thank you so much for all his attentiveness and kindness! And what a comfortable bed! Pure bliss—we didn't want to get up. Everything was very clean and welcoming, and the restaurant was delicious. I highly recommend this place to everyone!

I really liked this hotel. Its one of those old established town centre French hotels that is full of charm. The bedrooms have recently been decorated and upgraded and everything was clean and comfortable. It was quiet at night despite being so central. There is free overnight parking about 80 metres away. I had a great breakfast and dinner there, and of course I had to try one of their 15 year old cognacs. The waitress explained to me in detail how it was made and matured. She and all of the other staff were efficient and very friendly. I would recommend it.

Need a real rest in a quiet room with excellent bedding? This is a great place to stay in the heart of Cognac, very close to the "La Salamandre" convention center and public transport. The hotel is very well-run, the staff is attentive, and the breakfast is far more substantial than the standard continental, both in terms of the quality of the products offered and the presentation and tableware. The 3-star rating is perfectly justified, and the renovation of this very old building, with its monumental staircase (a listed historical monument, no less), allows you to appreciate the comfort of a silent elevator and all the modern amenities in a historic and well-maintained setting. Thank you to the staff.

03/09/2026: We’ve visited Cognac many times over the years, but somehow had never discovered Bistro du Claude until now. I’m so glad we finally did. I came here with my wife and we had such a wonderful evening. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and attentive, and the whole restaurant had this wonderfully authentic French charm about it. The food was absolutely exquisite. Everything we ate was packed with flavour, beautifully cooked and genuinely delicious. It felt like exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble across when visiting France. What surprised us even more was the value for money. For food of this quality, in such a lovely setting, it was incredible value. A charming, genuinely French restaurant with fantastic food and lovely people. We’ll absolutely be coming back the next time we’re in Cognac. Highly recommended.

05/09/2026: What an amazing place to visit. Food was wonderful, staff were very attentive and spoke multiple languages. They had a table of 20 to take care of and still treated us amazingly. The food was beautiful and couldn’t say any bad words about this place, stunning view on the river and very well lit through the night. Will definitely be visiting again on my next visit. I’d imagine the atmosphere is amazing on the busy days but we did attend on a Tuesday, couldn’t complain. Very affordable, make sure you leave a tip :)
