Le bistrot de Claude sur Cognac

A very expensive, trendy atmosphere for a minimal amount of food.

We’ve visited Cognac many times over the years, but somehow had never discovered Bistro du Claude until now. I’m so glad we finally did. I came here with my wife and we had such a wonderful evening. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and attentive, and the whole restaurant had this wonderfully authentic French charm about it. The food was absolutely exquisite. Everything we ate was packed with flavour, beautifully cooked and genuinely delicious. It felt like exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble across when visiting France. What surprised us even more was the value for money. For food of this quality, in such a lovely setting, it was incredible value. A charming, genuinely French restaurant with fantastic food and lovely people. We’ll absolutely be coming back the next time we’re in Cognac. Highly recommended.

Absolutely excellent! The octopus was incredible. The flavors were amazing, and it was cooked perfectly! A real treat. Impeccable, friendly service. I highly recommend it.

What a wonderful place! A very welcoming team and perfect cuisine! The sweetbreads are incredible, but every dish, right down to their delicious gourmet coffee, is a delight! Bravo, I'll be back with enthusiasm.

Very pleasant service, excellent food, friendly and professional staff

We spent a few days in Cognac and ate at Le Bistrot de Claude three evenings. The four of us ordered the three-course menu each time. Incredibly good quality for the price! Very friendly, professional, and incredibly attentive service. An absolute must for anyone visiting Cognac.

The octopus was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The apple tart was also excellent, a real treat to finish the meal. The service was pleasant and the atmosphere friendly; a very good place to eat.

This haven is tucked away in the narrow streets leading to the St. Jacques gate and the Château de Cognac. Refined cuisine, attentive service. I was spoiled.
