A pleasant restaurant for a family meal after a good hike. The wait between courses is rather long, but the food is worth it. One small drawback: the cook is often seen outside smoking a joint, which isn't ideal for children.

Good food.
However, on Easter Sunday, we waited an hour and a half before being offered the menu. The owner is remarkably unpleasant. Not a kind word, not a single sales pitch. Not a smile. One wonders why she chose this profession. Probably out of necessity.
We were served by her mother (as an extra), who was exceptionally friendly.
Keep the chef, but fire the owner!

We stopped at the Hungerplatz Forest House during a hike and had lunch there. Clara was serving alone that day, and we chose the set menu: pumpkin soup, couscous, and then floating island dessert.
The cuisine surprised us with its delicate flavors: you can taste the true expertise, something simple yet precise, almost alchemical. You can sense the discreet presence of a passionate chef behind each dish.
The pace of the meal was part of the charm of the place. Here, there's no rush: glasses stay on the table, time stretches out gently, and you quickly realize that this isn't a city restaurant where everything moves too fast. It's a place nestled in nature, where you come precisely to slow down. This tranquil slowness truly contributed to the peacefulness of our day.
At the end of the meal, Clara showed us the small kitchen where her baby was sleeping in a bassinet—a touching image that perfectly captures the essence of the place: a vibrant home, run by two people who do their best to offer authentic cuisine, at their own pace.
A simple, intimate place where you eat well and take your time. And frankly, hats off to the two of them who make it all happen.
We highly recommend it and will definitely be back.
And a quick photo to help us "reorient" ourselves with the book Jonathan bought at the library. 📚

We had lunch at the Hungerplatz Forest House during a hike: a truly wonderful discovery. The entrance is at the back of the building—the front door is intentionally closed to prevent drafts from entering the room, so you have to go around to the side.
The welcome is warm and the home-style cooking is excellent, prepared with care by a passionate team. Here, you don't come to eat quickly: you take your time, and that's what makes the experience so enjoyable. Last orders are taken at 1:30 pm.
Note: they also have a small library of books for sale, about cooking and other topics, which adds to the charm of the place.
If you're in a hurry, this isn't the place for you. If you appreciate authentic, simple, and welcoming places, it's definitely worth the wait. A peaceful interlude surrounded by nature.
On Saturday, November 29th, the daily menu at 18 euros consisted of: pumpkin soup, royal couscous, floating island.
