Simply the best sushi in Lyon in this price range. The quality can vary from night to night, but they are always excellent; their fish is incredibly flavorful. I have a slight reservation about the hot dishes; I think they detract from the experience, as they aren't their strong point. Their tataki, in particular, is indescribably succulent. Try them with some of the salmon and avocado California rolls, which have some of the best filling-to-rice ratios I've seen in France. I've been a loyal customer since 2013 and I'm still going—don't hesitate!

Every time, the sushi is absolutely delicious, the portions are generous, and the service is quick. Excellent value for money. I highly recommend it! 👍🏻

A fantastic find! The sushi and other dishes were delicious, beautifully presented, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. The service was quick and the staff very friendly. I'll definitely be back!

I find that the sushi, maki, and California rolls are very generous with fish. Their cold dishes are always a safe bet. And my favorite dessert is daifuku! A delight with red bean paste; they remind me of the ones I ate in Japan!

27/01/2026: With great location just next to the river Saône in Lyon. As an asian who uses to have the taste of Ramen, I would say that all food are fresh and well prepared. However, if you use to have Ramen in Asia, with standard of gourmet demander, I strongly suggest not trying it as it is totally different from those great Japanese Ramen chains and you will be really disappointed. On the other hand, their Gyoza with Saint-Jacques et encornets are delicious especially compared to Gyoza with Pork. If you were there, really have to give it a try. In terms of service, all staffs are super friendly. Very Japanese style service. However, those who took orders are not as professional as in a restaurant as they don't take the order by persons who entered the store first and they missed served our order until we reminded them. Overall, it is a nice experience but I don't think that I will re-visit it again as the Ramen doesn't reach my expectation. However, it is still good for those who like to try fresh-made Japanese ramen in Lyon.

14/11/2025: I live just a block away, and LOUTSA Lyon Masséna has become part of my weekly routine since we moved to Lyon over a year ago. My husband and I buy all our beans here, and the quality is always spot-on. The new manager, Jorge, has genuinely elevated the experience this fall. He talks about roasting the way a sommelier talks about wine: precise, thoughtful, and clearly passionate. Since both my husband and I work in the wine world, we appreciate that level of detail. It’s rare to meet someone who can connect flavor, process, and craft so naturally. For me, this café is my escape from working at home. I come in for a flat white, settle into a corner, and read, journal, or catch up on emails. It’s become my reset button. Jorge is a calm, kind presence who seems to sense what each customer needs. And my teenage son (who takes chai lattes very seriously) insists LOUTSA Masséna makes the best chai in the city. I drag him to coffee shops constantly, so his verdict actually carries weight. This is exactly what a neighborhood coffee shop should be: warm, consistent, and run by people who care about what they do.
