Kushikatsu Bon sur Paris

It's a set menu featuring an assortment of breaded and fried kebabs, each served with its own sauce, salt, or broth. A wide variety of flavors and a finesse in the diverse tastes worthy of a fine dining establishment! And what's more, the chef is very friendly with both customers and staff, creating a very pleasant atmosphere! A culinary experience well worth the trip!

A truly unique experience. The counter seats are comfortable. We especially enjoyed the foie gras skewer. The service is very polite and pleasant, and the chef is particularly friendly and smiling. We highly recommend this restaurant!

We went to Kushikatsu Bon for dinner. There were three of us, comfortably seated at the bar. We had a wonderful time, made memorable by the quality of the food and service. First, the food: Kushikatsu skewers, an Osaka specialty (fried). Overall, they were very good and perfectly executed. Note: while most of the skewers are true explosions of flavor that will leave a lasting impression, not all are of the same caliber. Some perhaps rely too heavily on the ingredients and are too bland in taste, especially the vegetable ones, where the oil from frying becomes overpowering. NB: This is exactly the same in Japan. Fortunately, the four available sauces are there to enhance the flavors. Don't hesitate to ask the chef for his delicious chili paste flavored with yuzu. Special mentions for the chicken and eel skewers: 1) Regarding the chicken, note that it replaces the Wagyu skewer on the menu (for €10 less). Honestly, I sincerely recommend the chicken skewer. It's far from the best Wagyu, and the chicken is truly excellent (tender, well-seasoned, perfectly complemented by the yuzu chili... a delight!), so for €10 less, why hesitate? :) 2) It's a shame the eel skewer isn't on the menu. Despite several trips to Japan, I've never eaten such good eel (better than at Nodaiwa, for those in the know). Note that if you resist the Wagyu menu, you'll save €10, which you can partially reinvest in this Unagi skewer. :) In hindsight, we would have much preferred the option to create our own assortment of skewers, as is done in Osaka (I believe this is the case at lunchtime, but I'm not certain). The desserts and other side dishes are classic Japanese dishes, very well executed (matcha ice cream, mochi, dashi broth, etc.). For those with a big appetite: the set menu is a bit limited, and it's possible to supplement it by adding skewers à la carte (between €3 and €6 per additional skewer). Overall, the price is high (€64 or €74 for the set menu), especially when you consider the Japanese equivalent (maximum €30 without Wagyu beef). But we're in Paris, and the experience will still leave a lasting impression. For all these reasons, the food deserves a solid 4/5 (if it were possible, I would have given it 4.5): very good, very refined, but inconsistent and a bit pricey. The overall rating is boosted by the quality of the service: very friendly and attentive. The cook did make a mistake on one of our three set menus, inadvertently replacing the chicken skewer with a Wagyu beef one. We pointed it out to him but didn't ask him to send the plate back to the kitchen (oh well, we couldn't waste Wagyu). What a surprise when the chef himself came to bring us each a chicken skewer, profusely apologizing for the error. Truly classy Japanese service. We'll be back, but preferably at lunchtime!
