It’s so rare to find a good place with a good food Sunday afternoon in France but here the wonderful one 👌💯 Little hidden corner with beautiful terrace. Great salades, delicious “confit de canard” really good service🙌👌 💯💯 recommend St Emilion

Everything was great. We ordered the €19.50 set menus, which included a starter (a salad; the cheese salad was very good), a main course, and dessert. Drinks were extra. Everything was delicious, and we were quite full with the portions. I would recommend, if there's more than one of you, ordering the duck and cheese menus and sharing them, as the cheese menu was quite heavy for one person. There's a €4 supplement for ordering duck, and the wine isn't really worth the price.

We decided on L Absolu (part way down the hill to restaurants in the square) based on pricing, options and the reviews. The charcuterie board was a good choice which was well priced at €17 although the price on the bill was €18, plus the average small house wine was priced high at €7. Definitely recommend this establishment however, when paying with card, a tip option appeared, which you could not choose zero so the server had to cancel the tip after saying ‘so no tip’? Funny thing is, in France all restaurants have an automatic 15% tip built into the bill. This is the first time in all of France we encountered this North American attitude.

We had lunch there on August 25, 2026. The site, carved into the rock, is very original. The atmosphere was family-friendly, and the coq au vin was absolutely wonderful.

While visiting Saint-Émilion, we discovered this place with its inviting terrace and dining room nestled in a troglodyte cave. A varied menu featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients. A delightful family outing.

28/09/2026: Absolutely delicious food and a restaurant that is definitely worth booking in advance. Be sure to make a reservation, as it is always difficult to get a table. Every dish prepared by the chef was delicious, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. I especially loved the seafood dishes. The fish was cooked to perfection—tender and moist, with just the right texture—allowing you to really appreciate the delicate, naturally sweet flavor of the sea. And one more thing: their red wine is excellent! Definitely give it a try when you visit. A wonderful dining experience with beautifully prepared food, great value, and genuinely delicious flavors. Highly recommended!
