La Baraque sur Val-D'Isere

It's not just a bar and restaurant; it's an experience, a success from beginning to end. The food, the service, the cocktails are fabulous. Thank you to Fred and his team for this wonderful time.

Excellent service. The Swiss fondue was superb. No complaints whatsoever.

OK, one experience at 8pm on a Sunday night might not tell the whole story as La Baraque appears to divide opinion but our story is a 5 star one (tbh it was a 4.5 rounded up). The restaurant was quite busy but a table was found. The service was a good standard, we were never left waiting. There was a band playing and the music (cover versions) was an interesting selection well played. The guitarist deserves particular mention. We had two courses, main and dessert. Mains of cod risotto and a mushroom dish were a very high standard and the meringue dessert highly recommended. Amuse bouche, bread are complimentary. We only drank beer and it was only ok. The prices are high but this is Val d'Isere. The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming. We would very happily return. Indeed, we thought about returning the next evening.

We are always warmly welcomed at La Baraque, which remains a must-visit in Val d’Isère and where we return each time with pleasure.

Nice atmosphere, very tasty food. The oysters are delicious! The beer isn't great. The waiter (guy) is out of place. If he sees that someone doesn't know English, don't explain it in French; it's very annoying. Then he did me a favor and dismissively explained it in English. The waitresses are wonderful.

We were he 3 nights in a row and all was good until Tuesday night. The DJ was “let’s say not so good”. They should scrap him!! Or maybe because it’s a Tuesday! ;). It was hard to dance to his music!

A pure delight: we came this summer and the menu and atmosphere are completely different in winter. From appetizer to dessert, a true feast for the taste buds: it was so delicious! Thank you for the extra sauce to enjoy with the bread at the end of the meal. The lemon-yuzu dessert deserves a star all on its own! Top-notch service, beautiful setting, exceptional food. I highly recommend it.

A very good, festive restaurant! Good products, a good atmosphere, simply the Val d'Isère spirit!

Used to be the most fun spot in val d'Isère but it's somehow lost its soul. Prices have increased and, as such, the crowd it seems.
