La Bastide Saint Antoine - Jacques Chibois sur Grasse

For lunch, 2 negative points. Tiny main course portions for a 3-course meal. Madam's birthday reported when booking but forgotten.

It's really a beautiful place. Lunch or dinner on a summer day under the trees in the garden is a pure moment of happiness. And what the chef offers is also: the cuisine is creative without being pretentious. Much space is given to regional products. The service is efficient but discreet. And the prices are reasonable. One of the addresses where I come regularly throughout the year.

We stayed at the Bastide for the second time! We found this place magical and relaxing the first time, which is why we returned. Everything was perfect like the first stay. A perfect reception, a nice upgrade that we really appreciated. A perfect dinner service for our 47th year wedding anniversary but the breakfast I would put a downside because for the price 36€ far too much fruit compared to the rest not enough salty. But a mention for the person who welcomed us every morning to serve us. Super pleasant and professional. Exceptional gardens, relaxation areas, A negative mention for the valet service who brought down our luggage but I had to load our suitcases myself, into our vehicle. Really very nice place. But be careful not to stick with your achievements and lower your service, that would be a shame. F. DAVID.

Restaurant that deserves to be given back its star. Impeccable quality of cuisine and service. You will have a good time for both a business lunch and a romantic lunch.

Restaurant Review. Beautiful setting, pleasant service BUT disappointing food compared to previous visits. Nice starters but nothing more. Main course: more than adequate portion for the red mullet and ITS flower (1 not 2!) of zucchini, poor plate not worthy of the Bastide that I knew. Nice desserts. Unfortunately I leave disappointed which had never been the case before.

Stayed at the hotel and had dinner at the restaurant. Not befitting a Relais & Chateau status. The building was charming from the outside as most are in the region/area, the inside is outdated. The views/outdoors are worth mentioning but then again the views in the whole south of France are to die for and can be experienced anywhere. Overall, both the stay and the food were overpriced and underwhelming. For the high price per night one would expect more as I have experienced at other similarly priced and rated establishments where for the same price the stay was luxurious, memorable and worth every penny and more. I echo another comment from a previous guest, I would have happily paid EUR 250/300 for the stay per night and that would have matched my experience and left a pleasant taste. In fact, I’ve had a better stay at a B&B run by just a couple in a neighbouring village with neither the prestige nor the reputation that The Bastide possesses. A special mention to M. Fabien who was lovely, attentive and dedicated to his craft. He went above and beyond each morning. The best part of the stay was the breakfast. Stay: The staff were dry and the welcome was somewhat stale by the ladies at the front desk. Such a country house/boutique hotel can be found anywhere, nothing special nor memorable. Rooms were clean. Restaurant: Staff were well trained and as one would expect from French fine dining, food was served in unison and with flair. The food we had served courtesy of the chef was far better than the meal we paid for. We paid for a four course menu and were served amuses bouches twice from the chef (a soup and canapés) which were good. 8.5/10. Noteworthy olive oil 10/10 which they serve and sell. Starters were good, a solid 8/10. For mains, the piece of fish we had was minuscule and the accompaniments were virtually inedible although the fish was well cooked and seasoned. 5/10 Cheeses were good as one would expect in France but were served on their own without so much as a cracker or olive or fresh fruit/preserve. Dessert was underwhelming and overly sweet. In the land of French pastry chefs renowned for their desserts worldwide, what a let down. I would have had a better mœulleux au chocolat (chocolate fondant cake) at a super market. The undissolved sugar crystals were not only still visible around the outer fondant but were obviously still crunchy as if eating sugar straight out of a spoon. 1/10 (generous rating). Disappointing meal. Tiny portions. Left hungry. I believe it was €96 pp. To conclude, not worth it. I made the mistake of ignoring previous similar comments and was silly to have thought I would have a different experience. It’s not a bad place but definitely seems like it’s a relic of the past having outlived its glory years. A bit of love, attention and renovations are needed.

We would like to express our warmest thanks and gratitude to all the members of the staff of La Bastide St Antoine who contributed to making the day of July 8, 2024 both exceptional and unforgettable. In addition to the exceptional beauty of the magnificently arranged site, we benefited from Adeline's skills and kindness to organize down to the smallest detail this meal which would be the highlight of our wedding. The butler and the waiters were able to combine great empathy with their attentive efficiency without ever being intrusive, contributing to the atmosphere of happiness and voluptuousness of this day. Chef Mr Chibois honored us with his fine, inventive and tasty cuisine and gave us the immense pleasure of coming after the meal to share with us the passion for his cuisine and his immense erudition about olive trees. Thank you all for your welcome and for leaving your delicate mark on this beautiful day.

Un restaurant a la qualité toujours tres élevée. De l'accueil en passant par le cadre et le repas, l'ensemble reste parfait et d'un prix tres abordable. Service sans faille et toujours tres attentionné. Chacun des plats aux saveurs multiples et harmonieuse se laisse déguster dans un cadre paisible et des tables bien autonomes. Pas de conseils precis sur les plats tres raffinés et gouteux. Petit bemol sur un manque de couleurs et de lumiere dans les plats pas entièrement pittoresque et a l'image de la provence. Nous sommes venir et nous reviendrons avec un infini plaisir. Merci a toute l' équipe.

Ce n'est plus ce que nous avons connus des années précédentes. Nous avons diné à la carte, rien à dire sur la qualité et le gout mais des portions vraiment trop petites pour les entrées et les plats. Suite à notre remarque une réduction a été accordée sur l'addition.
