I discovered the place when I went to vote at the Consulate. I searched on Google and decided on "La Belote." It was full, but since it was almost closing time, there were tables available. I loved the cod, the dessert, and I'd been missing a good coffee. The waitress is a sweetheart, always available.

My girlfriend, who is of Portuguese origin, had carefully chosen the perfect moment to take me there and surprised me with a wonderful meal during a quick trip to the capital. We both enjoyed a feijoada, similar to a French cassoulet, accompanied by a Sumol orange juice, and to finish off our lunch, a slice of what I call a flan, but which is known as a Portuguese pudding. The place is unique, so be sure to arrive early if you want a table. The waitresses are friendly and charming. The service is quick, and the quality-to-price ratio is surprisingly good.

Small Portuguese restaurant; at lunchtime, it's mostly frequented by workers on their break. They only offer a daily special, not an à la carte menu. The waitress was very friendly.

28/03/2026: Dined with them multiple times, their dinner menu is good and they have Very good prices for the brunch buffet, good selection and their vine leaves are especially good. It’s very unfortunate that it might’ve been the brunch I had with them that’s causing my current food sickness. I started experiencing food sickness the evening of the brunch and I’m pretty sure it was the merguez sausages that did it. They didn’t taste cooked enough but I’m not exactly sure about which dish did what. The food was in general really good though and I just wish for them to double check on items that have been sitting for too long at the buffet so this doesn’t happen again.

03/12/2025: I was craving a Guinness and I found one. Made my day. Good service. Great atmosphere. Dan was a great bartender.
