Le Général is one of my favorite restaurants for celebrating special occasions, especially with family. We had a wonderful evening with perfectly cooked, flavorful dishes (hanger steak and cordon bleu...!) in a restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere! The only downside was that the dessert menu lacked something truly spectacular.

I've been going to this restaurant for over 10 years. I never imagined I'd have such a bad experience. The pork loin in the burger was dry and tasteless, and the cheddar cheese, hardened on the overcooked bun, didn't help matters. I don't know what kind of meat was used for the tataki. There was so much gristle that I doubt it was beef tenderloin, which should be the main appeal of this dish. Only the beef tartare saved the meal, although I didn't like the presentation. We didn't finish our plates. To top it all off, the waiter (a tall, thin man with glasses) was condescending. In short, the quality has declined significantly. I hope my comments will prompt some self-reflection.

A very pleasant place, the staff too, a young waitress originally from Bonson who was very professional and smiling. The food was perfect, with the only slight drawback being the prices, which is a bit high, but then again, it's a brasserie in the center of Thonon-les-Bains.
