La Cabane du Trappeur sur La Chaussee-Saint-Victor

Passing through, this is a lovely place where the very warm and friendly welcome makes you feel right at home. Here, there's no fuss, and the Canadian cuisine, with its many poutine options, is a real treat. It was perfect. I highly recommend it.

Friendly welcome. Large dining room with typical Canadian decor; you really feel like you're there. The poutine was excellent and very generous, just as good as the one I had in Montreal where I stayed.

Excellent restaurant, the poutines are great. A single is fine for those with a normal appetite, or a double for those with a huge hunger.

The cheese poutine was excellent, but the waitress wasn't very friendly! She answered our questions curtly! The service was quick, though, no complaints there.

First, the decor. It's cozy, cheerful, colorful, and full of photos of Quebec. You feel right at home. Next, the welcome and service. Kindness, humor, and helpful advice. And finally, the food. Homemade and delicious. The poutines are, of course, delicious and generous, but the gravlax salmon salad is also perfect in terms of flavor and freshness. Excellent value for money.
