La Crédence is a charming restaurant located very close to the entrance of the Château d'Azay-le-Rideau. It has three indoor dining rooms, a street-side terrace, and a pleasant, non-smoking garden. From the first-floor window, you can see the entrance to the Château d'Azay-le-Rideau. The welcome is cordial and warm. The atmosphere is cozy. The menu is delicious. There are options for people with celiac disease, including gluten-free choices, as well as vegetarian options. The prices are very reasonable, and the dishes we chose were delicious and generous. The order of the photos: Gazpacho with minted peas, pork terrine with hazelnuts, carrot and orange crumble, pork stew with Chinon wine, Caesar salad, pollack with mixed vegetables, close-up of the first-floor dining room, and street view.

We had lunch here before entering the castle. The lunch menu for €22 was very convenient. The dishes were authentic but not predictable. The rosemary panna cotta deserved top marks.

This is our fourth visit to La Crédence, and once again we are very satisfied. Without a doubt, our favorite restaurant for us residents of Azay-le-Rideau. Thank you to the restaurant staff for their professionalism and their smiles. The food is excellent; without a doubt, our best culinary discovery.

A very charming place near the castle. A set menu at a very reasonable price (€22) including a starter, main course, and dessert. Everything is homemade with quality ingredients. I highly recommend it; we had a wonderful time.

The staff were incredibly attentive, and the food was delicious. This establishment became our go-to spot during our 4-day stay in May. Those vegetarian lasagnas were a real treat! L&S.

I don't even know where to begin to describe this superb experience at La Crédence! If Google allowed me to give this restaurant 10 stars, I would. First, the setting: a very pleasant, shaded interior terrace, right next to the Château d'Azay-le-Rideau. Special mention for the non-smoking policy—a real plus! The service is impeccable: warm, professional, and efficient servers who fully contribute to making the experience even more enjoyable. As for the food, it's flawless! A deliberately short menu (3 starters, 4 main courses, 4 desserts) guarantees expertly prepared and expertly used ingredients. The pork stew with Chinon wine? Quite simply the best I've had in years. The accompanying mashed potatoes are incredibly delicious, with a wonderful buttery flavor that's perfectly highlighted. And finally… the lemon panna cotta with its blackcurrant coulis: a pure delight! As a huge panna cotta lover, I can say without hesitation that it's exceptional. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Azay-le-Rideau or the surrounding area. And if I return to the region, I will go back with immense pleasure!

We had lunch on the shaded terrace, which was very pleasant. There were quite a few of us, and we had some difficulty choosing our meals, but the servers were very patient, friendly, and helpful. The food was plentiful and excellent. Thank you.

16/08/2026: A magnificent experience at L’Aigle d’Or! Passing through Azay-le-Rideau from Reims to explore this beautiful region, we had the pleasure of dining at L’Aigle d’Or, and what an excellent evening it was! We chose the Envol menu: a true discovery from beginning to end. Magnificent dishes, refined cuisine, a wealth of flavors and wonderful combinations, with a particular focus on local produce. This approach was especially appreciated and gave even more meaning to this beautiful cuisine. Special mention must also go to the absolutely impeccable service: a smiling, attentive, friendly, and humorous team, all while remaining highly professional. The wine recommendation was particularly well-chosen, perfectly complementing our menu. Finally, what a pleasure it was to dine in this lovely garden, under this magnificent tree! A peaceful and charming setting that greatly contributed to the success of the evening. We left delighted, both by the cuisine and by the warm welcome and the ambiance. We highly recommend this restaurant and will gladly return on our next trip to the Touraine region. Thank you to the entire team for this delightful experience!

23/08/2026: An excellent place! The service is impeccable: responsive, warm, and always with a smile. As for the food, the dishes are simply excellent. Dining in the garden offers a truly pleasant and peaceful setting. We had a wonderful evening and will gladly return!
