The food was okay, not great. You have to ask for bread and you're always waiting for it. There was a bald waiter. A nice detour, and the young guy was overwhelmed but pleasant.

Pleasant waiter and welcome, uneven meal. We ordered two €23 set menus. The beef steak with Fourme d'Ambert sauce was excellent, however, the seared tuna, advertised as seared on both sides, was far too overcooked and served on top of ratatouille-style vegetables, resulting in an overcooked and soggy dish. The local red wine was very good.

A very cute and well-located restaurant in La Rochelle. Homemade cuisine, quality ingredients. Very friendly staff. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated; they even offer filtered still or sparkling water, which I think is a commendable practice these days. We had a truly wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

17/03/2026: Just passing through. A great find, the service was excellent. Good advice. The oysters were fresh, the fish was perfectly grilled, just right. All this under a sunny sky, but well sheltered from the still slightly chilly wind.

29/03/2026: Friendly welcome, oriental decor but dated, service a bit unclear. The food was good but definitely not worth the prices (an average of €28 for a plate of couscous). We were expecting refined cuisine, something we weren't used to. The meat was good, as were the vegetables, but very roughly chopped. The sauce was good, but nothing that justifies the price. We were a group of 15, and at the end of the meal, the owner came with a tray of small desserts and asked who wanted some and who wanted tea. We thought it was a small gesture of goodwill, but it wasn't; everything was charged, even the tea. I really don't understand the prices; for me, it's not even worth half. At that price, I'd much rather go to a good bistro in the city center.
21/03/2026: Hello, I stopped for lunch at this couscous restaurant, what a wonderful place! And such a warm welcome! I ordered the Constantine couscous (chicken and merguez sausage). It was amazing! In a setting that allows you to dream a little. The couscous was so generous, all the ingredients were there. Inshallah... The owner and his son were very attentive, thank you. The prices are a bit high. A small price reduction would be welcome. Not forgetting the kitchen staff. Thank you, see you soon. Michel from Niort
