La Ferme Gourmande sur Boulogne-Sur-Mer

We shared a meal today with my children at lunchtime. The service was impeccable, with no faults whatsoever, either in the kitchen or with the service. Judging from other comments, the Roquefort sauce could have used a little more Roquefort, but it didn't spoil the taste at all and allowed us to appreciate the whole dish without an overpowering cheese flavor. That's really just nitpicking! 🤪 We ordered rib-eye steaks, which were delicious, flavorful, and especially tender. The Welsh burger and the Greek salad were also very good. I also want to commend the waitress and the cook, who provided excellent service between the two of them. Ladies, bravo to you! You did a fantastic job, and without any waiting. We will definitely be back. It was a real pleasure to eat at your restaurant. I also want to highlight the excellent value for money, and with a view overlooking the top of the basilica, what more could you ask for? I don't understand the rating; this restaurant deserves at least 4.5/5. By constantly nitpicking, small restaurants like this one will disappear, and we'll only have chains. Take the time to look around and appreciate the value of genuine service. Go without hesitation; you won't be disappointed.

We landed in this restaurant because others were full and it was also on the shady side of the street. I wish I had read the reviews first because like others have said the service was very slow and that is because there is one waitress and one chef. We were served at our drinks very quickly but waited 40 minutes or more for our meals. I was on the cusp of leaving without eating when our order arrived as I had 3 hungry teens with me. That said when the food arrived, everything was hot and freshly cooked and we had no complaints about the actual food itself. My son was particularly complimentary about his carbonara being rather tasty. I had the chicken salad without cheese and I do feel it was a bit drowned in the balsamic and salad cream style sauce The atmosphere was slightly spoilt by the waitress and Chef having a shouting match with someone that clearly was not happy with their meal or the speed of the service but because I don’t speak brilliant French, I didn’t entirely understand what was going on. If you have time to sit and have a long lunch, I can see this being an ideal place to stop and it is reasonably priced. Unlike other places the menu is translated into English however when I asked the waitress if she spoke any English, I was given a blunt ‘no’. Which was quite awkward. I can’t see us going there again

This restaurant is welcoming and offers generous portions. Some people complain about the quality, but I disagree. The food is good, plentiful, and they are very accommodating with food intolerances. In short, it's excellent value for money. Don't hesitate to go!

We ate there as a family at a large table for eight people and received a very warm welcome. I highly recommend the Welsh rarebit, a truly excellent traditional dish.

A very enjoyable time. The Welch platter was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it. A place with very friendly staff. Can't wait to go back.
