We visited for lunch and ate in le cave - it was very snowy out so couldn’t eat outside but our main disappointment was the food - one of the dishes in particular , the boeuf bourguignon was particularly disappoint, the beef and carrots were nice but the sauce was so watery and the price for a poorly executed stew was far too high. All our other meals in the area have been much better quality and you pay a premium to eat here - I would skip the restaurant, not worth it. The staff were lively though and the wine was good.

A classic Folie Douce. Returning after 13 years, it’s clear the place has been revamped and expanded. That said, unless there’s a guest DJ (and even then) the music can feel repetitive—sometimes even following almost the same order day after day. It would be refreshing to see DJs take more risks and introduce new tracks to discover.
The reliance on well-known classics seems to be the price Folie Douce pays for its massive popularity and the need to please a broad crowd. Still, blending those classics with a more progressive, daring selection would keep the experience fresh and engaging, especially for visitors spending a full week in Val d’Isère.

Wow! This place has been thoroughly renovated and expanded, and what a difference from what it used to be. Charming restaurants, a beautiful shop, and a huge terrace with performances and a DJ set in the afternoon. I won't comment on the prices of food and drinks; you know when you come here that you're not going to the cheapest place in Van d'Isère. Easily accessible via the La Daimler gondola lift, also for pedestrians.

La Fruitière – La Folie Douce
Ordered the lemon perch and received five overcooked fish balls in tomato stew with a fish-shaped pastry that smelled and tasted unpleasantly. I couldn’t eat it.
No one asked why the dish was untouched, yet I was still charged €45 and left hungry.
The menu is pretentious and overpriced, but the food quality doesn’t justify it. Very disappointing.

Great atmosphere, very good food, and all at a reasonable price. Karine (at the shop) also gave us a wonderful welcome. The shop is always dangerous 🤭😂. An ideal place for a lovely break 👍💪.
