La Fontaine sur Besancon

28/12/2025: A place with a cool and friendly atmosphere, even comforting in winter, especially since it's open on Sundays (a rarity in B.). There are enough seats that even a single person can find one. A wide selection of drinks at still reasonable prices. Some are served in particularly pretty glasses or cups... The only downside is the restrooms: accessible in the basement by a steep and narrow staircase whose walls bear suspicious marks and cobwebs. Leaning on them is out of the question... For Halloween it might be acceptable, but otherwise... Once downstairs, you have to contort yourself to get into one of the cramped cubicles AND close the door (it's best to be as slim as possible). Overweight people, or those with arthritis, should turn back or better yet, not even go down, as the climb back up is almost as difficult as the descent (in fact, passing other people is impossible). Lanyards would be useful for hauling oneself up step by step... For this reason, I would avoid going back, as visiting the restrooms is one of the main reasons that motivates and justifies going to a bar or other appropriate establishment and having a drink there.
