Superb hotel, ideally located in the city center with private parking. The decor complements the building's original style. The staff is very attentive to guests.

Improvements have been made to the reception since 2024; we had a wonderful time at the spa, thank you to Jade and Ninon for the massage. A minor drawback was the locker system, which needs improvement (no keys and broken codes), and the lack of information that the hammam entrance is before the changing rooms; many people missed it, as I think we did.

Superb venue for this type of concert. The only problem is the very difficult or poorly organized parking outside.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful with such a great bar and the rooms are well appointed, spacious and in very good order. Unfortunately the service is a bit random. It can be efficient and polite or totally the opposite. This was the case at the bar and for the breakfast. It feels luck plays a great part in who is going to serve you. I don't think I would book there again though.

We went to this place as a couple, having been recommended by friends. The hotel, bar, and restaurant were all perfect, even magnificent. Our only slight complaint was about the spa; the pool was a bit chilly for our liking, and the common areas were also rather cold, especially when getting out of the water. Otherwise, the massages and treatments were perfect. The hotel staff were very competent and helpful. It remains a very pleasant place to spend a weekend. However, the sauna was out of order, and we couldn't be told if it would be repaired before our departure.

This place was recommended to us by a friend who goes there regularly, and we absolutely loved it. From the bar and breakfast to the staff, the room, and the spa, everything was fantastic. The place has a truly captivating charm. We will definitely be back.

A magnificent place with authentic architecture. Visited during a meal with friends. The menus are reasonably priced for the location. A warm and inviting spot, perfect for a romantic meal. Highly recommended.

Incredible building steeped in history. Impeccable and delicious restaurant and bar, with excellent service. The duplex room was beautiful but overlooked the parking lot. The bathroom and toilet were very basic, not in keeping with the setting. The air conditioning was very noisy, so I didn't get a full night's sleep. Otherwise, for one night, the place is worth seeing.

We stayed at the Royal Hainaut in Valenciennes with the package including dinner, lunch, spa access, and an overnight stay in a duplex room to celebrate our 8th anniversary. Unfortunately, our stay was quite disappointing in several respects. When we booked, the room shown had a mezzanine with a four-poster bed. We didn't end up with this configuration, which was our first disappointment! In room 220, the light switches by the bed weren't working. A staff member came to fix it but was unfortunately unable to resolve the issue. We also noticed a loose electrical outlet sticking out of the wall in the room, and there were marks on the shower floor tiles. I had also made a special request for this romantic weekend, which had been planned for a long time, but it apparently never reached you. When I mentioned it to reception that same evening, no compensation or solution was offered, which is quite disappointing for a 4-star establishment. My partner, being a sauna enthusiast, was also unpleasantly surprised to find it out of order. Furthermore, both showers by the pool were cold, something we reported to the spa staff… Reading other reviews, I see that we are clearly not the only ones to have encountered these kinds of problems. Regarding dinner at La Galerie, the menu we chose was very good and the service was excellent; we had a pleasant time. However, it was quite cold in the dining room, with the ventilation blowing directly on us. As for breakfast, it was very good and varied. Otherwise, the location is magnificent and the setting is very pleasant. But unfortunately, we are left with a rather bitter taste from this stay, which was supposed to be a special occasion for our 8th anniversary and which is not worth the price paid.
