Oh my goodness... this is unbelievable! It's so frustrating not having it right near us. My husband and I absolutely love Massena Café in Marseille's Place Castellane, and frankly, it's a really clean restaurant with good ingredients and excellent dishes. My husband especially loves the Angus beef stew there; it's absolutely divine, so he never wants to go anywhere else. Here at the foot of the gargoyle, we hadn't made a reservation because our priority was booking for tonight, Valentine's Day. We were just looking for a place to eat last night and stumbled upon this wonderful spot. The welcome was impeccable and warm, the decor is beautiful and typical of the region, the cleanliness is spotless, and the food... it's impossible not to love it. So, this is the first time my husband has told me the meat is even better than at Massena Café, and yet until now, that was his go-to place. I had the delicious onion soup, and my husband opted for a Marseilles-style ribeye steak with homemade fries and a homemade pavlova for dessert—it was amazing. The waitress is so sweet, and the owner truly has a passion for cooking and a warm, friendly personality. I highly recommend this place. The ingredients are fresh and locally sourced.

Possibly one of my favorite dining experiences in France. The restaurant is cozy and inviting. The chef kind and charismatic grilling everything right in front of you. The flavors were brilliant and perfectly curated. Wonderful wine. We really enjoyed our time here!

Warm and authentic without being overly rustic, this is a true country bistro, complete with a large fireplace where the chef grills his meats tableside. One of the best places in the old town. Only 30 seats, reservations recommended.

A safe bet where you wouldn't expect it! On Briançon's main street, a small and welcoming restaurant that bases many of its recipes on grilling. Excellent ingredients, slow but friendly service, a delightful discovery.

Friendly staff and excellent food.
We ate there on September 9th (outside of peak season) and everything was perfect. The trout cooked on the fireplace grill made our mouths water, and we weren't disappointed 🤤.
The desserts were excellent, and the crème brûlée of the day with basil infusion was to die for 😁 Personally, I had the profiteroles and had no complaints 😄
So, to conclude, a charming restaurant, a very friendly staff, and dishes that were visually and especially delicious.
