We stumbled upon this little restaurant by chance... drawn in by the menu... The chef surprised us with his flavor combinations and masterful preparation... whether it was the main courses or desserts... it was a delight. We will definitely return, and you can walk through the door with complete confidence.

Excellent welcome and service! A small, family-run restaurant where everything is homemade. From starter to main course to dessert: everything was simply excellent! Very, very good value for money. You can go there without hesitation. A big thank you for this wonderful discovery!

Excellent little restaurant. Very friendly welcome, the dishes were truly delicious. Steak with foie gras sauce, fish with shrimp sauce, a delicious "Fort Boyard" dessert, and all at a very affordable price. A must-try...

A completely unexpected little gem in such a location: the starter, main course, and dessert are all made with top-quality ingredients and are simply superbly prepared by the Chef. It's truly traditional cuisine, the kind you hardly ever find anymore, and yet: it's so delicious! The value for money is unbeatable. Admittedly, you can't have more than six people there given the limited seating, and the decor could use a refresh, especially outside; but what you taste on your plate makes you forget these minor flaws, it's so good. Bravo! Keep surprising us with this cuisine, so unexpectedly Charentais in this setting, yet so excellent. What a delight!

A pleasant surprise. Everything was perfect: the welcome, the homemade dishes. The best restaurant I ate at during my stay in Villard-de-Lans. I highly recommend it.

It's so rare to find such high-quality homemade food, from appetizer to dessert. Absolutely amazing! The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is incredible!!! And the staff are so lovely! There's something for everyone, meat or fish, all cooked to perfection. Wow, and thank you!

An island of Saintonge on the Vercors plateau There are establishments whose very name is a program in itself. You leave La Goule Bénèze with the feeling of having traveled between two terroirs, from the Charente estuary to the peaks of the Vercors, without ever leaving your chair. A rare find, where you finally understand, in your very being, what it means to be "benèze." Thank you to the chef for this remarkable journey!

30/06/2026: What a pleasure it was to stay at the Auberge des Montauds! We received a warm, welcoming, and friendly reception that immediately made us feel at home. Located above Villard-de-Lans, the inn offers a peaceful setting in the heart of nature. If you're looking for tranquility, greenery, and a real breath of fresh air, you'll be delighted. It's also a little paradise for motorcyclists. Our room, while modest in size, was very comfortable and perfectly suited to our stay. We also greatly appreciated the shaded terrace, ideal for enjoying the excellent half-board meals, which were generous and carefully prepared. Breakfast was equally delicious, varied, and plentiful—the perfect way to start the day. A big thank you to the entire team for their kindness and hospitality. We wholeheartedly recommend this place and will gladly return to continue exploring this magnificent region. Brigitte & Serge
30/06/2026: What a great find! Passing through at the end of my motorcycle road trip, I truly enjoyed everything here. The location, quite secluded in Bois Barbu, is peaceful and perfect for relaxing. I love the layout of both the grounds and the inn itself. My room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The comfort is definitely appreciated. The half-board meals are home-cooked, prepared with quality ingredients. The dishes are appetizing and delicious. A garage is available for bicycles and motorcycles, which is a nice touch. A place to definitely remember in the area!

14/09/2026: Super friendly staff and a quality fondue! No need to book, the waiter found us a small spot outside. Thank you to La Bergerie for this very nice restaurant where we had a delicious meal!
13/09/2026: Wonderful place, wonderful staff, and great food. Not speaking French isn't a problem. They'll tell you everything and give you recommendations. We were very pleased with everything.
