25/05/2026: A superb inn where we received a very warm welcome. The owners truly have a knack for service and did everything to make our stay easy (breakfast was prepared the night before so we could leave very early for a cycling race!). A beautiful, peaceful place nestled in lush greenery!

The chef is worthy of a Michelin star... The quality of the meals is exceptional. The service by the mother and daughter is extraordinary. We will return as soon as possible.

28/05/2026: An amazing meal! Memorable dishes, as impressive for their generosity as for their quality. I've never seen anything like it! And above all, it must be emphasized: the ingredients are local, from the region, and excellent. All this accompanied by very pleasant and warm service. In short, an address to remember without hesitation. I will certainly recommend it to everyone I know, and on our next trip to the Vercors, we will return to dine with great pleasure… and a hearty appetite!

23/05/2026: A proper restaurant in Villard is a real treat: quality cuisine, a warm welcome, and a great atmosphere. They offer regional specialties, not just from the Vercors and Dauphiné regions (ravioli, caillettes, etc.), but also from Sardinia and Great Britain. A lovely little red wine from Châtillon-en-Diois is also available. Original recipes that offer a welcome change from the ordinary. In short, inventive cuisine that doesn't forget its roots.

26/05/2026: We spent a weekend at La Ferme du Bois Barbu. The location and setting are exceptional, and the welcome was warm and friendly. Roxanne was always available to answer our questions and meet our needs. The rooms were lovely, and the chef, Nicolas, prepared a delicious meal with great generosity. A truly wonderful and authentic weekend, beautifully organized! I highly recommend it. Dominique

26/04/2026: Nothing is homemade except the cooking. The sauces come in tubes, which is great. Even the mayonnaise is in a tube. This restaurant is best avoided unless you want to catch traveler's diarrhea. You barely have time to finish your aperitif before your main course is served.

23/03/2026: Excellent value for money! The hotel is modern, well-maintained, and the rooms are quite nice. The welcome is warm and friendly, with a sort of lounge area and a pool table available. A hammam and jacuzzi (not mentioned on the website, unfortunately) are available even in winter. The breakfast is very good! I highly recommend it. The only drawback was a slight noise (like dripping water) in the room, which the staff took good care of.

15/05/2026: There were three of us, and we had a wonderful meal, ordering different dishes (tartiflette, fir bark—delicious!—and pasta with blue cheese). We thoroughly enjoyed it! The staff were very friendly, and the decor and atmosphere were typical of the mountains; we felt right at home! A must-try, and we'll definitely be back!

02/04/2026: Looking for a 4-day solo getaway without a car at the end of March, I found the perfect hotel: - very well located: all shops, cinema, and bus station are less than a 5-minute walk away; hiking trails start from a 10-minute walk. - half-board or full-board options available (perfect after hiking); - simple hotel and rooms (hence the attractive price) but it has everything you need; - the best part: attentive owners and a friendly, family atmosphere

08/03/2026: What a delightful surprise this charming restaurant was, tucked away in a rather dreary cul-de-sac! The welcome is cheerful and warm, the decor a clever, slightly kitschy blend of seaside and mountain themes, and the lighting is perfectly balanced to allow you to admire what's arriving on your plate. The menu is extensive, inventive, and promising. This is confirmed when the dishes are served: everything is fresh, beautiful, flavorful, and served without delay. We enjoyed the langoustines and the confit lamb in a pastry crust, which we chose as starters (both generous portions), and then we savored the hake with sorrel and confit potatoes, as well as the fish quenelle with shellfish jus. The desserts are excellent, with a special mention for the caramelized apples and meringue, a reimagined version of the common floating island found elsewhere. Very reasonable prices again (76 euros for two, starter-main-dessert plus two half-pints of Leffe) when compared to what the other tourist trap restaurants in Villard dare to charge for over-prepared and soulless food. An original and welcoming place that makes you want to return very soon with friends! Thank you, Mr. Charentais. 😊

12/01/2026: What a delight this little restaurant is! Finally, something other than "mountain" fare. Everything was new to us: lamb confit with morels in a pastry crust, oysters and scallops with parsley sauce, suckling pig offal stew, Charentais-style chowder, mashed potatoes with cabbage... A true delight, and served with a smile, too! Good value for money. Highly recommended!

01/03/2026: The concept is really great. There's a wide selection of sleds available, making it easy to enjoy the experience without having to bring your own equipment. It's also really nice to have slopes reserved exclusively for sleds, without sharing them with skiers. We didn't know it was possible to use a pass from another partner resort to avoid buying a new one. This was explained very clearly and kindly at the ticket office. The staff is very pleasant and welcoming, which contributes to a great time. The only slightly annoying point concerns the magic carpets, which are quite slow and, more importantly, prone to several unexpected stops. The ride up can therefore seem a bit long. Despite this, with all the other positive aspects, I highly recommend it. It's still best to go when it's not too crowded to fully enjoy the runs and ensure a pleasant experience.
