La Gourmandiere sur Carignan

We would need three pages to express how we felt about this superb evening spent at La Gourmandière... the welcome, the service, the flavors, the sommelier's guidance in finding the perfect pairings... simply SUBLIME. While perfection may not (in theory) exist, I've never been so close to it.

This establishment is incredible, the service impeccable, the servers exceptionally kind and attentive. The dishes are very thoughtful and sophisticated; hats off to the chef! A detour well worth the trip.

The selected products are of undeniable quality and served professionally by the waitstaff. We do, however, miss Monsieur Gérard's infectious cheerfulness. His eyes sparkled with his love for service and his family's cooking. The presentation of the various dishes is refined, and the pairings are creative. We ordered two different menus. The first menu offered simple, well-prepared ingredients with excellent wine pairings. My husband loved it. The presentation was very sophisticated. The second menu was a little more disappointing compared to the first. The presentation was simpler, too simple compared to the first. The dishes served were rather bland. A shame, because the foie gras and sweetbreads were superb on their own! Perhaps they should consider a slightly bolder or more flavorful accompaniment? Although the rum is already a bold choice on the plate! For dessert, I chose the coffee-themed selection. Oh dear, the texture of the creams was gelatinous, and only the small biscuit pieces added any flavor to these various (frozen, etc.) creams. Perhaps I should have chosen the honey dessert... which seemed very daring. We will return because I'm sure this establishment has the potential to improve, and the servers are all very friendly and discreet; we had a pleasant time. A good place where, as everywhere, things can be improved for an extraordinary culinary experience. Maintaining the authenticity of the dish without altering it is a difficult task for chefs. A deleme... Mr. and Mrs. Cahen, we look forward to returning to your establishment.

Exquisite and sophisticated cuisine for this seven-course New Year's Eve 2026 meal. And despite my food intolerances, the chef prepared a succulent and exceptionally refined meal. Congratulations to the chef and the entire very friendly team.
