La Gourmandiere sur Carignan

This was a first for my husband and me. Honestly an address to remember. It is the best restaurant in the Ardennes. In addition to a very hearty gourmet meal, the staff takes great care of their customers. In short, I recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed. And I forgot to specify, a magnificent setting.

Despite a few mishaps caused by a baby who didn't want to stay with his grandmother, we had a great time 😊 The setting is really nice with its outdoor garden, perfect for having a drink and a quiet chat. Slowly but surely, we got to the heart of the matter with a first cucumber starter that gives you a little slap in the face while remaining delicious. Then, we continued inside with a beautiful combination of foie gras and apricot. Rinse your mouth with apple/manzana ice cream and there you have it, the beef fillet, tender and tasty (even without oyster mushrooms). Although reheated the next day, Madame enjoyed her first sweetbreads which must have been even better on the big day. Well-stocked cheese platter, delicious and generous dessert and finally, coffee and cakes to accompany. It was a great experience both on a culinary and human level with very warm and understanding service. It's good to have restaurants of this level in the Ardennes, thank you and we'll do it again!
