Wonderful! This small establishment transports you to Japan with its layout and cuisine. The flavors are delicate, and watching the chef at work adds to the pleasure!

Absolutely fantastic food, ambiance and wine recommendations. A gem of a place. A disservice to those who know of this place as getting a table could be difficult but truly a place not to miss if you’re in town.

A mandatory stop for anyone enjoying great food that wants to have a superb experience. The chef and the sommelier are very kind, answering to any question. The wine list is very well made, with a lot of "hidden" gems that are not easy to find in other restaurants. The food is delicious, very well made and having the chef cooking in front surely adds a special feeling!

Absolutely fantastic! Food was delicious, a smart twist on the classics, great wine, friendly host, warm atmosphere. We would 100% come back.

A truly excellent restaurant in Beaune! The setting is simple and pleasant. The chef prepares all the dishes single-handedly. However, the service is very well coordinated between the chef and the waiter. We didn't have to wait long between the courses we ordered. The small sauces are wonderful and enhance the dishes. A must-try if you haven't yet discovered this place. A tip: call ahead to reserve, as it's a popular spot. Even at the last minute, try your luck; sometimes a cancellation will be just what you need.

This restaurant is extremely well rated, very busy, and has a great reputation so we were really looking forward to our dinner here. The food was absolutely fantastic and the bar side seating overlooking the small kitchen area allowed us to see the very friendly chef taking great care with his food preparation. Unfortunately, the one negative was the server who was unique, in our experience over the past few weeks in Beaune and the surrounding village restaurants, as someone who stood out in his total inability to disguise his extreme negativity. I don’t know if he was having a bad evening or if he was always like this but every polite request was met with obvious disdain. I don’t expect friendliness but nor do I expect overt hostility. He couldn’t contain himself when one of us ordered a sake, which was clearly understood, and then a few minutes later, when the other finished her drink, she ordered an asahi (beer). I suspect that his instant angry response was because he wrongly assumed that the second order was being pushy about the first drink order (perhaps heard "a sake" and "an asahi" as the same) as it came to her a while later and the asahi did not arrive until after I ordered two more. We don’t care about timing, everything was ordered politely with an appropriate use of the language, but his attitude for the entire evening made the fantastic food into a negative experience. Again, the chef was extremely friendly, rushed out to say goodbye and thanked us. Truly a wonderful man who cares about his excellent food and restaurant. The server would, perhaps, be better served in a position where he doesn’t interact with other people. Even though we have no desire to go back, the restaurant is very well rated so I would still recommend giving it a try.
