My goodness, what a treat! Excellent restaurant, I got to try traditional Auvergne cuisine. The Auvergne burger was amazing. I highly recommend it.

Excellent restaurant! The food is very good, fresh ingredients, top quality, and inexpensive considering the generous portions! Everything is delicious from appetizer to dessert, with a special mention for the Auvergne burger and all the sauces (blue cheese, Cantal, wine sauce). Every time I'm in the area, La Mangoune has become a must-visit.

Too long a wait for the order to be taken and for the food to be served, but the food is good.

The staff were very welcoming, and it wasn't too busy, so we were served quickly. I was just passing through on Easter Sunday, so no one said hello. As for the meal: the truffade sausage was poorly reheated, and the Auvergne "milhar" (a type of sweet bread) seems to be a strange concept for passersby... which I would describe as a complete failure. The pastry was like flan, and there were no cherries at all; what I found inside was more like compote, with no consistency and no flavor. I ate quite a bit of milhar when I was younger, mostly made by my mother, but it was nothing like this shapeless thing. It was nicely decorated with whipped cream and little things, but who cares about the decoration?! Seriously, tell whoever makes this thing to quickly revise their recipe and give us a proper Auvergne milhar. And if the cherries are too expensive, they should offer something else, because this is completely unrepresentative of this local specialty and leaves a bad taste at the end of the meal. It's urgent! Thank you.

We stumbled upon La Mangoune and, frankly, it was a very pleasant surprise! The setting is warm and inviting, typical of an Auvergne inn, with a friendly atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. The welcome was pleasant and the service efficient. As for our meals, we ordered two specialties with truffade: 👉 truffade with sausage 👉 truffade with beef chuck Both dishes were truly delicious, generous, and satisfying. Special mention goes to the beef chuck: the meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender and the sauce absolutely sublime, a real treat! 👌 The only slight drawback: the dishes could have been served a little hotter, which is a bit of a shame considering the quality. For dessert: 👉 The profiteroles were perfect, very indulgent. 👉 The crepes (one with chestnut cream, one with salted caramel) were good but could have used a little more filling. In short: a very good, generous, and friendly place, with a few minor details to improve, but overall a very positive experience. We recommend it! 👍

Very slow service, forgotten dishes

Hello, three of us came this Friday, March 13, 2026, for a 7 pm reservation. We enjoyed this overnight stay with a truly generous and varied dinner, charming waitresses, and pleasant service. While the meal itself was excellent, the bill was marred by an error to our disadvantage, which we noticed once we returned to the hotel. Indeed, what should have been €119.90 was €130.90! This €11 error is surely due to the beer and the Monaco liqueur, which were probably charged as 50cl instead of 25cl, and also to the dessert that was mistakenly served and then taken back... We should have asked for the bill, a mistake we won't make again. However, I would recommend this restaurant, where the food is quite good in a pleasant setting. Voviaux.

A fantastic restaurant with generous and delicious dishes. Excellent quality regional products and very friendly staff. Not much of a wait and quite reasonable prices. Easy access from the motorway.
