La Mangoune sur Riom

Excellent restaurant. We always stop there whenever we're passing through on our way to our holiday destination. Very generous portions and local produce. The children are pampered with a little gift.

We had a wonderful time at La Mangoune Riom for a short break on our holiday road trip. The local cuisine was generous. The menu was varied, offering something for everyone. The prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. The waiter was very pleasant. The restaurant was spacious and groups were welcome. There was parking available and it was close to the highway. The photos in the reviews really made us want to come. But without a reservation, it's complicated. So we booked the next day. I agree with the other reviews about the quality of the food. It's very good and the portions are reasonable. The coffee, however, is only half a cup of espresso, which is a shame. The service isn't unpleasant, but it's not pleasant either. You don't feel any connection with the servers. Their interaction with customers is rather rushed; you get the sense they're in a hurry. You can feel the somewhat rushed atmosphere; everything arrives quickly, but as soon as you get up, someone is already clearing the placemats. We had a wobbly table. On the other hand, the decor is truly beautiful and puts you in the mood for something from our grandparents' time.

The food was excellent, but the wait was far too long. Luckily, we had a reservation. The waitresses were very friendly, but there weren't nearly enough of them for such a small restaurant.

We came for lunch the first time. Given the heat, we ordered a salad: my friend with goat cheese, and me with bacon, chicken, etc. It was generously filled and tasty. I decided to go back for my nephew's birthday, and it was a disaster. The three of us ordered the chef's salad, and it was a disappointment: three pieces of cooked ham, one egg roughly cut in half (I should have taken a picture), and it was on a bed of lettuce. I mentioned it to the waitress, who looked at my plate and advised me to speak to the manager. She said it might not be the same chef, that it sometimes happened, without offering any further apology other than that she would pass the information on to the chef. For the same price as the first time, over 17 euros, it's expensive for half a ham and some lettuce leaves. Really disappointed, especially since up until then it had been a pleasant experience. Don't order the chef's salad, order hot dishes based on the chef's recipe instead 😁😁.

Warm welcome Welcoming and very typical decor We ordered main courses, desserts, and drinks: the food was very good and plentiful. Excellent value for money! Don't miss it!

We came to eat here because we were staying at the Ibis hotel next door. The setting was beautiful, the welcome very warm, and the staff pleasant and very responsive. The meal was so generous that I couldn't finish it!! Absolutely fantastic, I highly recommend it!!!!
