We'll definitely be back. Everything was perfect! We ordered a starter, main course, and dessert: the portions were just right—plenty of food that left us feeling satisfied without being stuffed or hungry. The homemade quality of the ingredients is evident. The sauces, confits, and other accompaniments were delicious. 👌 There were seven of us, and everyone agreed.

Fellow food lovers,
I wasn't familiar with La Marmite Sénégaloise. It's a restaurant in Rennes that you absolutely must discover. You'll receive a very warm welcome from a family of remarkable cooks.
For my starter, I ordered the prawns à la Saint-Louisienne. Don't miss these large prawns served with onions, ginger, and spices. A delight, a true dessert to begin your meal.
For my main course, I ordered the Thieboudiene, the national dish of Senegal, a UNESCO World Heritage dish. It was beautifully presented: eggplant, potato, carrot, and rice cooked in the broth of the vegetable and fish sauce served in the center. The photo is incredibly tempting, and the taste is a marvel for the taste buds. I'm thrilled with such a flavorful dish, spiced yet not too hot!
I'm eagerly awaiting my dessert: pineapple and coconut cake.
If you're lucky enough to be served last, you'll enjoy a very friendly chat with the two chefs, who are twins! You'll also learn more about Senegalese cuisine.
Please note that the restaurant's menu changes daily.
It's a fantastic experience to repeat monthly!

Nice little African restaurant. Typical dishes like good yassa or mafé, and the bissap is very good. The staff is very friendly, but the service is a bit slow. Takeout is available.
