La Poissonnerie sur Hendaye

A spontaneous trip to Hendaye – a great choice of restaurant by my husband. A delicious plate of fish and chocolate ganache. Thank you to Nanou and Michel for their flavorful cuisine and their love of good food.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves from beginning to end. Delicious hummus, excellent main course and dessert, finishing with a small plum. The welcome and service were top-notch. Very friendly, just like home.

Discovered this little gem of a restaurant! A wonderful welcome and fantastic food! The chef (who readily introduced himself in the dining room) specially adapted a dessert that wasn't suitable for our dietary needs. They were very accommodating, with no complaints or fuss... And they even have gluten-free bread! Our two companions appreciated the friendly atmosphere and the lighthearted ambiance, and had a truly relaxing and enjoyable time. 🤗 I highly recommend it!

We enjoyed a starter for two, beginning with hummus, which was excellent. We continued with a main course of three types of fish and a variety of slightly crisp vegetables, accompanied by a light sauce that enhanced everything. The cooking was to our liking, as were the freshness of the ingredients and their flavor. The dining room was small, almost intimate, and quiet, with cloth napkins and delicious, soft bread. The service was prompt, just as we had hoped. In short, a highly recommended establishment. We did, however, deduct one star for the price of the desserts (€11), which we found high. We didn't order any. An excellent experience nonetheless.

We were a group of three young people who came for lunch today. Don't hesitate to step inside and experience some true culinary masterpieces. Each dish has its own unique touch, and the desserts are simply breathtaking! Everything was excellent; we have nothing but praise for it. The two people who run the restaurant are truly passionate about their work, and you'll feel it in both the food and the service. So go for it without hesitation! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The must-visit restaurant in Hendaye. You can't go to Hendaye without having lunch or dinner at Itsas Zaldi. A warm and friendly atmosphere, a pleasant setting just steps from the beach. The cuisine is refined, the fresh ingredients are of excellent quality, and the flavors are incredible. Even though I don't have much of a sweet tooth, I've never been disappointed by the desserts. A culinary journey that I highly recommend from aperitif to dessert! Remember to book ahead, as Nanou and Michel are often very popular!

Thank goodness people like the owners of this little restaurant still exist and are there to give us such wonderful surprises! What an experience and what a discovery it was to walk through the doors of this initially unassuming but truly exceptional restaurant. The perfect cooking, the fragrant and intense flavors of the sauces that highlight simple yet high-quality ingredients, and to top it all off, the incredible kindness and quality of service make it, in my opinion, a restaurant worthy of the very best, at affordable prices. And let's not even mention the desserts—well, I will mention them briefly because they're absolutely divine—and the helpful advice at the end of the meal about other professionals who practice the same high-quality craft, demonstrating the honesty of these kind people. I can say that I have rarely had such an experience and I highly recommend that everyone reading this review seize the opportunity to go there!
