Excellent restaurant in terms of taste, but the service was too fast. The glass of rosé ordered with the meal was served at the same time as the aperitif, without the bottle being presented. The rosé was warm... The courses were served very quickly, perhaps too quickly. The waitress was pleasant.

We rarely post reviews because it's easy to criticize or praise... but our evening at La Poule Noire will be a 5-star memory. The setting is exceptional in this beautiful city, the welcome and service were charming and pleasant, the cuisine fresh, efficient, and excellent... punctuated by moments of kindness that are incredibly welcome in today's world 🙂. A lovely place in La Charité, the food is delicious and generous, beautifully presented, with pleasant service and a pretty garden for lunch or dinner in the summer. Good value for money, I highly recommend it if you want to have a good time.

An excellent place that I highly recommend! The team is fantastic: welcoming, always smiling, and incredibly attentive. The atmosphere is friendly and you really feel at home.
The food is homemade, and it shows in every bite: flavorful dishes prepared with high-quality ingredients. As for the desserts, they are truly decadent, as beautiful as they are delicious! A real pleasure every time I visit. Well done to the whole team!

Do make a reservation. But, we walked in a half hour before it opened and made our reservation on the spot for when it opened. Fabulous food! We smelled it from down the street, so even if our hotel host had not recommended it (he did!), we probably still would have ended up here. We were not disappointed! 😋 And the server was super helpful even though our French was limited. Oh... but bring cash. No credit cards.

We really love this place, where everything is homemade and seasonal. The menu changes regularly, and they even offer vegetarian options. Thanks to Dylan for your warm welcome and sense of humor. The restaurant also has a really lovely terrace in the summer.
