La Reserve Rimbaud sur Montpellier

A wonderful experience at La Réserve Rimbaud! We chose the lunch menu and had a very pleasant time. The setting is absolutely exceptional: a true haven of peace in the heart of the city, with a magnificent view of the Lez River. The staff is also very pleasant, attentive, and truly caring. We particularly enjoyed: • The fig dessert, simply excellent. • The bread, absolutely fabulous, served with olive oil: a simple but perfect idea. • The amuse-bouches, very well done. • And the small sweet treat offered after dessert, which provided a lovely finishing touch to the meal. I do have two small suggestions, simply to contribute to the overall experience: • Regarding the carpaccio starter, I felt that the crumbled egg ultimately added very little to the dish. A simple drizzle of olive oil on top would, in my opinion, have enhanced it much more. The railing could perhaps be redesigned. It's quite visually prominent and unfortunately obscures part of the beautiful view of the Lez River, which is a real asset of the restaurant. A glass railing would preserve this view while adding something lighter, softer, and more elegant. These are, of course, just a few personal suggestions, as the setting, the quality of the meal, and the attentive staff made this lunch a truly wonderful experience, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We had a wonderful meal, with beautifully presented dishes in a truly magnificent setting. However, the service was a major drawback: very slow, and some waitresses were rude, failing to greet us or offer any particular attention, and not even asking if we enjoyed our meals. Unfortunately, the service was not up to the standard of a Michelin-starred restaurant.

The setting is simply magnificent. As for the Chef's creations, they are worthy of a Michelin star. A wonderful experience in this restaurant with discreet and efficient service. Congratulations!

Idyllic setting Inventive cuisine Excellent staff I highly recommend it

We had lunch at La Réserve Rimbaud on the banks of the Lez River at the end of July. We were in Montpellier, in a verdant haven. The setting is superb and particularly romantic with the river flowing at our feet. Parking is available next to the restaurant on a small paved area. Be warned, spaces fill up quickly! We opted for the three-course lunch menu. The dishes were perfectly suited to the heatwave. The smoked eggplant and feta ravioli was both rich and light. The main course consisted of quail fillets on seasoned semolina. The semolina was reminiscent of tabbouleh, and the fillets were cooked to perfection. It was a delight. As for dessert, it was delicious: a financier biscuit with a light chocolate mousse and an heavenly black sesame praline. The prices are reasonable for a Michelin-starred restaurant. The lush green setting is magnificent, and the service is discreet and efficient. The chef prioritizes the well-being of his staff and closes on weekends. We would gladly return there during the holidays, even in the middle of the week.

The outdoor setting is pleasant. The food is good. Everything is perfectly executed, but there's little emotion. The service leaves much to be desired.

It had been a few years since our last visit. The cuisine is refined and flavorful, bursting with taste. The menu changes over time. However, the portions are meager, and let's not even mention the meat dish, which is practically a slab! The decor is dated and desperately needs updating; its only charm lies in the banks of the Lez River.

A superb place, the setting is simply magical. It's a shame the food didn't live up to it. We found the presentation of the dishes very nice, but lacking in creativity and balance. The only positive points were the amuse-bouche and dessert, which were very good. We also found it a shame that there was no aperitif menu. There were two of us for dinner, and our bill came to €320 (a reasonable price for this type of establishment).

A truly special and memorable moment for my darling's birthday. We had a wonderful time in a stunning setting. Thank you again to the team for accommodating my requests beforehand – a moment we won't soon forget. Thank you again.
