Dining at La Roche Roy is an experience that begins the moment you step inside. The place impresses without ever trying too hard: a refined setting, an elegant dining room where space is respected, and a crackling fireplace that immediately creates a warm and almost intimate atmosphere.
The menu is concise and intelligent. A small number of dishes, a clear and straightforward approach, focused on the ingredients—a promise generally kept by establishments that know what they're doing.
The scallop carpaccio with caviar opens the meal with remarkable precision. It's all about balance: perfect seasoning, an obvious appreciation of the ingredients, and no excess. This starter demonstrates true mastery and culinary confidence, the kind that comes from not overdoing it.
The turbot immediately confirms the quality of the cuisine. The presentation is elegant, the two-course service particularly appreciated, and the whole experience exudes a sense of effortless execution. Nothing is out of place, everything is perfectly executed. It's the kind of dish that reflects a team confident in its technique.
The sweetbreads, on the other hand, left me with a more mixed impression. The cooking was impeccable and the product undeniably high-quality, but the dish was built almost entirely around the onion, which was used in a very prominent way. This focus overshadowed the natural delicacy of the offal and ultimately unbalanced the overall presentation. A bold culinary choice, but one that, in my opinion, slightly detracted from the main ingredient.
A very fine conclusion came with a perfectly executed Grand Marnier soufflé: beautiful height, airy texture, and clean, distinct flavors. Respect for the great classics often remains an excellent indicator of a chef's skill, and here, there is no doubt.
High praise is due to the wine. The selection by the glass is remarkable: relevant choices, carefully chosen to complement the dishes, and precise enough to interest the wine enthusiast. As for the wine list, it immediately catches the eye with its depth and coherence. It suggests a serious cellar, likely assembled with passion.
The service complements the entire experience perfectly: attentive without being rigid, present without ever being intrusive.
La Roche Roy is an elegant, refined establishment, imbued with a true gastronomic vision. An address that will undoubtedly appeal to discerning palates.

A truly wonderful place.
The soup is delicious.
The bread was also a big hit. 😋
The vol-au-vent is generously sized with excellent puff pastry.
The service is impeccable and attentive: they remember everything, cater to allergies and pregnant women, and offer substitutions.
Beautiful setting.

My first experience at La Roche Le Roy on New Year's Eve 2025 was rather mixed.
The set menu, priced at €185, featured high-quality ingredients (scallops, langoustine, venison, turbot). However, apart from the scallops, the other dishes lacked "character" in my opinion. I didn't find any truly remarkable flavor combinations.
The service was generally good, although I did notice a few minor lapses: they didn't wait for us to finish all the amuse-bouches before clearing two of the three display stands they were on. The wine list wasn't available for long because other customers were waiting to order.
Finally, the first dessert was served with almost completely melted ice cream (see photo).
Given the price, I expected a level of service comparable to a Michelin-starred restaurant. Unfortunately, the value for money is quite disappointing despite a very beautiful setting.

An absolutely delicious lunch! The dishes are refined and prepared with top-quality ingredients. Every bite is a true pleasure, with perfectly balanced flavors and combinations that both surprise and delight. You can really taste the passion and expertise behind each plate.
The sommelier is fantastic: his recommendations are precise, well-thought-out, and add an extra dimension to the meal. He knows exactly what to suggest to enhance each dish, and that makes all the difference.
The team and the chef are lovely and very attentive. You truly feel welcomed, as if the meal were tailor-made for you. Their kindness and professionalism make the experience even more enjoyable and memorable.
A huge thank you to the entire team for this exceptional moment. We left with smiles on our faces, our stomachs and hearts full. A truly wonderful experience, guaranteed, and we'll definitely be back!

In a setting with a hushed and welcoming atmosphere, the establishment captivates from the moment you step inside. The cuisine stands out for its confident creativity, elevating exceptional ingredients with rare elegance. The service, for its part, is impeccable: attentive, discreet, and perfectly orchestrated.
However, a few drawbacks tarnish this refined picture. The charge for tap water, not mentioned in advance, leaves a bitter aftertaste. Furthermore, the limited parking near the restaurant may discourage diners seeking convenience. Finally, some dishes, while flavorful, suffer from overly heavy seasoning, where the salt sometimes overwhelms the subtlety of the other flavors. A place where the culinary experience borders on excellence, but which would benefit from refining these details to reach perfection.

Thank you, it was perfect! The quality and service were impeccable, and there was a huge selection of cheeses to choose from. I would recommend a "trou normand" (a small glass of Calvados served between courses) from the 7-course tasting menu.
