La Route d'Argent sur Nasbinals

Lunch with my wife. Alte on the Camino de Santiago. We had booked because of the restaurant's reputation. The experience lived up to expectations. Super efficient service, top-notch food. The charcuterie board was both beautifully presented and featured excellent products. The Abrac beef melted in your mouth. Aligot served hot in a pan. Profiteroles with choux pastry and homemade hot chocolate. A nap was definitely in order before continuing our hike. A truly wonderful place. A must-visit in my opinion.

Excellent value for money and a great atmosphere

A lovely stop along the way. The room was very clean and recently renovated. Friendly staff. Good breakfast and dinner.

This is a well-located, reputable family-run establishment. Unfortunately, the welcome is extremely cold; the owner doesn't even bother to look at you when you arrive. We arrived in broad daylight, during a power outage. We were told we could go to the room, but that since the shutters were closed and electric, it would be dark. There wasn't the slightest attempt to make the guest feel welcome, such as offering a flashlight. The room in question (101) clearly has serious plumbing problems, as there's an unpleasant odor that ventilation doesn't seem to dissipate. At dinner, no one seats you. You have to wait amidst the constant stream of waiters. It's a shame, because the waiters themselves are friendly and the dinner is very good value for money. At breakfast, the service is pleasant. Unfortunately, when it comes time to return the key, the owner (apparently the brother of the previous day's owner) doesn't even look up or greet you. You quickly get the feeling that you're just a passing customer. And in the end, it turns out to be true: you don't really feel like coming back. Which is a shame because there aren't many family-run establishments like this anymore.

Stay on May 7th: welcoming staff. Very good room and meals.

We had a very pleasant stay. The half-board meals were excellent and very generous. A superb breakfast and the waitresses were lovely.
