Les Sentiers de l'Aubrac sur Nasbinals

I arrived on foot in a torrential downpour after walking 25 km. I was soaked and barefoot (my shoes were completely unusable, they were so wet) and was greeted with the utmost kindness. After giving me a towel to dry off, this kind gentleman seated me at a table and gave me the menu. For starters, an extremely generous "Trail Salad," full of delicious local produce from the Aubrac region—excellent! For the main course, the famous "Sausage and Aligot," absolutely perfect after such a long walk, satisfying and comforting. And for dessert, the best chestnut cake I've ever eaten. I'll come back to Nasbinals just for it—an absolute delight! The whole team was wonderful, and when they learned that my hotel wasn't nearby and that I had to walk back in the pouring rain, they offered to drive me back. In other words, in addition to the quality of the food and service, this restaurant impressed me with its warmth and humanity. This restaurant is one of my most cherished memories of the Camino de Santiago! Thank you again!

The meal was rather bland, and the waiter was a bit cold. Luckily the ice cream was good.

€22 for two excellent pieces of local beef and a generous portion of very good vegetables. Great terrace. I'll definitely be back under different circumstances ❤️

A good evening meal after a stop on the Camino de Santiago. The beef was a little tough but cooked as requested, and the service was quick. The aligot was very good, and the desserts were excellent.

Excellent aligot, but it deserved a better side dish (the meat was rubbery 😕). The vacherin for dessert was excellent. Neither the waiter nor the owner asked us if we enjoyed our meal... On the other hand, we're just pilgrims passing through, so...

The welcome was a bit cold, and it was no longer possible to order a charcuterie platter on a Saturday after 1 p.m.! I opted for a steak from Aubrac, which was absolutely tough, although the aligot was tasty: disappointing value for money. It's a shame not to find a menu specifically for pilgrims at this essential stop on the Camino de Santiago.
