The manager was rather undiplomatic with the customer. The €24 menu wasn't offered online. Be careful when the bill arrives.

The manager is unfriendly to her staff. Not diplomatic with customers. Only looks out for her own financial gain. Doesn't offer all the menus, including the €24 one. The filet mignon is listed à la carte at €24 but charged at €24.50... Check the bill carefully.

The food was okay, but nothing special, the prices were very high, and the desserts were definitely frozen (at €9.50, that's pushing it). The welcome was inconsistent depending on the customer (some were offered to "take your coat," while others weren't). Furthermore, the service was rather poor: the waiter didn't clear the cutlery between the starter and main course, there was no interaction, and again, the prices were very high for a set menu with few choices and no flexibility whatsoever. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Five stars in its category of traditional French restaurant. A provincial gem. A beautiful house in the heart of Chinon. A classic dining room with exposed beams. A decidedly traditional menu: coq au vin, duck breast, pike-perch fillet, scallops. Local specialties: dried pear from Rivarennes. All executed with skill, fresh ingredients, and a touch of flair. Two chefs. One specializing in savory dishes, the other in sweets. And each is talented. The result is perfect. The pleasure is undeniable. I will return.

12/07/2026: Stopped for breakfast. Perfect welcome and location. A very friendly waiter/owner was available to assist customers. The food offered was very satisfactory and the prices more than reasonable. A place to remember!

25/02/2026: A roadside diner-style restaurant at the entrance to Chinon. The decor is rather old-fashioned, but it has its charm. Quick and efficient service for a hearty and generous cuisine.
