La Taverne Flamande sur Cassel

Arrived late afternoon it’s a party of 10. Everywhere else unable to take a large party. However, this restaurant took us in a provided an excellent meal of Flemish Stew and frites - with a small beer, €20 great value.

Superb discovery! A timeless tavern, with a decor that smells like a flea market. Very warm welcome, where we are given the choice to take our time. The plates are excellent and very generous... Thank you for this good time.

Excellent time spent in this restaurant located on the main square of Cassel The owner, although overwhelmed this Sunday afternoon, welcomed us very warmly and installed us quickly and efficiently. The decor of the “old-fashioned” restaurant is very pleasant and the atmosphere is very family-friendly and good-natured. A terrace is accessible in good weather with a nice panorama The waiter and waitress present that day showed an excellent welcome, but also efficiency without being pushy The menu reflects typical estaminet cuisine. Lard with herbs was a good rediscovery 😁 The stew was excellent as well as the home fries. However, I was surprised not to find any Welsh on this map 😉 Last good surprise, the prices are not exaggerated I will come back with pleasure 👍

We eat simply but very well, very good product. The best potjevleesch.

We shared a moment with family and friends in this establishment in early August 2024. (4 adults and 4 toddlers). The welcome was warm from start to finish. The generous dishes, the tasteful draft beer. A pleasant atmosphere in every way, we felt very good there. A little extra for Nathan who opened the terrace to give us some fresh air. We greatly appreciated his company during the complimentary digestive at the counter at the end of the meal. Thank you Nathan and thank you the whole team. We will definitely come back when we visit the North.

Local cuisine made with love: everything you expect from a Northern estaminet. Particularly pleasant service reflecting the region. More than generous plates, even for big eaters. I highly recommend!

The cuisine is of good quality, as well as the quality on the plate. The service is perfect. The only problem is finding a place to park.
