24/03/2024: Remarkable culinary work! Lots of research, especially in vegetables. Very sophisticated appetizers and desserts that are as good as they are beautiful. The lemon dessert is very popular. Very balanced menu.

01/04/2024: A very good and beautiful Estaminet Flamand in the heart of Cassel (the most beautiful village in France)! Welcome, delicacy, decor... At a controlled price (around €25 main course, dessert and drink). I advise !

31/03/2024: A first time for us this evening! What a pleasant surprise...a beautiful place (if you don't like the old one) the staff is friendly... One thing I liked was that we weren't too tight on each other... In terms of food, it was just very good! Everything is homemade and it’s very generous! There's a bit of a wait but when the plate is there it's worth the wait! We will return

04/04/2024: Very beautiful address on the heights of Mount Cassel! The place has incredible privacy, in addition to a magnificent view. For the cuisine, the menu is simple, the service fast and friendly, special mention for the dessert of the day: a rhubarb tart, local and seasonal. The estaminet also brews its own beer for amateurs.

02/03/2024: What a desappointment !!!! The chef claims to be a master restaurateur… how is that possible?? We do not understand, any more than the glowing customer reviews on this site... are they friends, acquaintances like those who monopolized the waiter by leaving the restaurant to type the discussion while we waited to be able to order our dessert. Dessert that we ultimately chose not to order so as not to lose money, imagining a dessert as bad as our dishes with sauce! How is it possible to prepare such gelatinous sauces, similar to those in my school canteen, when you are a master restaurateur? We do much better at home, we who are only amateur cooks but lovers of gastronomy. The meat was too much, but way overcooked. The ham cooked over a wood fire... had no taste and the ham cooked over a wood fire only had the grill marks. Marrow bones placed on a bed of poor salad and winter tomatoes... but why? The Americano appetizer was strange and bad. The chef doesn't know his classics. And the plating, not neat, almost thrown away! How sad. We were not asking for a star-studded table setting but just a setting done with love and conviction. So the next day to end this evening we went to the Michelin-starred restaurant next door… and there for a few extra euros… it was divine! If you like to eat, avoid Le Sauvage, it is hardly worthy of an amateur table! How can the chef be satisfied with his work? It’s a scam.

29/03/2024: Passing through to put the fiber in the building next door, the restaurateur in the middle of preparing for the carnival, asks us if his connection is going to be cut, we tell him no and that he has nothing to worry about, then offers us to come and drink a coffee for free! 02/03/2024: Café in the Flanders tradition: simple and effective cuisine, without fault in taste. The dish of the day (sausage or black pudding with apples and fries) or the potjevleesch are well made - mention homemade - and has very fair prices: €13.90 each. The service is attentive in this beautiful, tastefully decorated place. A quality place.
